Nightwave and Alerts just aren't similar enough for one to replace the other. Alerts were great for new players and boring for vets, nightwave is exciting for vets and borderline impossible for new players.

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 01:22 PM PST

When I see "do a sortie with friends" I think, ah shit, better look for a friend. When a new player sees that, they first have to look up what a sortie even is, then make it all the way through the star chart to Sedna, then complete all questlines up to the war within to gain access to the sortie then they have to pray that they have enough gear/skill/experience to actually complete the sortie. THAT'S A FUCKING UNDERTAKING! and it's pretty much the same for all elite acts. Some of the other lower level acts are just as bad for new players too. Meanwhile they aren't constantly getting opportunities to grab endo and materials and alert/nightmare mods from alerts because alerts no longer exist.

Both systems have their merits, but they serve very different purposes and really are not interchangeable.

DE you've created trolling on demand, Hotfix the god damn Nightwave Kuva mission IMMEDIATELY

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 01:09 PM PST

Not because it's difficult. Because it isn't.

Not because it's tedious. But it is.

Because you designed a fucking challenge that people can TROLL and force you to fail. Fifty five fucking minutes in and the asshole I just blacklisted and reported runs straight up to a life support and poof goes an hour of my day.

Do you not understand how demoralizing this shit is? It was a chore to do the hour long mission in the first place and THEN I have to sit here afterwards already worn out and somehow scrape together the energy to do it ALL OVER AGAIN knowing that at any time another asshole can just run up and force a fail AGAIN.

Forcing people to team up with a clan mate or friend instead of just using the matchmaking you built into the damn game was a minor inconvenience. But shit like this SHOULD NOT STAND.

Edit: And as an extra "Are you fucking serious" in classic DE fashion this challenge is buggy as fuck because even though the troll aside two of us failed the challenge one person in the group somehow managed to get it counted.

An update regarding the status of Semlar's Riven Tracker

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 04:14 PM PST

With game progress now tied to long-duration missions, Host Migrations are completely unacceptable.

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 03:41 PM PST

Warframe is quite literally the only game of its size that I've played that has this problem, and with 60 minute missions a thing now, it's beyond time DE gets Host Migrations under control.

Nothing feels worse than to be kicked out of a match at 50 minutes due to a Host Migration, only to be told that the "Objective has been completed" when trying to reconnect. Why is this a thing? I'm not aware of any other game where this is a concern.

Could we change the syndicate system to work like this? Makes it clearer, less tedious to change factions, and frees up fashion-frame options

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 05:38 PM PST

I still remember how everyone hated Nitain alerts.

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 01:38 PM PST

Now, suddenly it's the best thing have ever happened to Warframe, lmao.

Same was with old relic system. And Star Chart. Etc, etc, etc. I wonder how many times it'll repeat in the future. You just have hard time to adapt to new things.

"59mins 12 seconds, by which they had extracted" - Nightwave Trolls are going to kill the mood in this game

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 08:26 AM PST

Just played a Kuva, survival game, joined in with randoms, all looking for the Nightwave elites. The game went well until two decided to extract, just before the 60 mins.

DE needs to realise that this is an hour wasted of my precious time, and is not the way to incentivise play with others.

Instant Nightwave fix: Leave weekly challenges up until the season ends

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 07:36 AM PST

The Nightwave system is essentially a "battle pass light", and I think conceptually it's a step in the right direction, but in its current iteration it misses the mark on what makes battle passes in other games so appealing: you don't have to grind out every single week's challenges as they come. In e.g. Fortnite, a new batch of challenges is added weekly, just like it works in Nightwave right now, but unfinished ones aren't removed until the end of the season instead of every Monday.

This system still encourages players to log in regularly to stay on top of the more grindy challenges and get their hands on the best rewards early, but there's always going to be times where you're simply busy, or can't be bothered to play a specific mode that's required for a challenge, and now that's fine! You can catch up later in the season when you have more time to play or find yourself really in the mood for a 60 minute Kuva survival (?).

You'd also be able to take straight up breaks from the game without losing out on exclusive content, which is a question that immediately came up in last week's dev stream - suggesting that there's a number of players like me who love coming back to Warframe after a month or so and chewing through all the new content that has piled up in the meantime. The current Nightwave system actively works against that.

There'd be some considerations for challenge design going forward (like avoiding exact repeats over the course of a season), but that might even lead to higher challenge diversity in the long run while making the Nightwave progression so much more pleasant and forgiving.

Forget about the nightwave completion percentage required to unlock everything, can we talk about the time commitment this whole takes ?

Warframe has always been for me the perfect game to hop on and off. Sure, you have dailies, weeklies and stuff, but what happens if you don't do sorties, or farm syndicate rep, for one week? One month? Well, nothing happens, you just pick up the game where you left it. No biggie. As an adult with family and job and other hobbies, that's perfect. I can get everything the game has to offer, just over a longer timeframe than the average teenager. It might take me 4-6 months to get my r3 arcane energise or grace, and that's fine.

Enter nightwave. Last week it took me 5-6 hours to complete. As an intermediate/vet player who has all the frames, do 5x3, and solo sorties. 5 hours of grinding through stuff like cetus bounties, invasions, stuff that I don't need anymore. This week is even worse. 10 syndicate missions? 1h kuva without someone screwing it up for you? Goddamn floof hunting? Mind you, I'd be fine with one or two, but no, I have to do 10 of those. Yes I have to, because fuck me for going on holidays at some point right ? For sometimes not being here on the weekends ? I would need to 100% complete all the other weeks because of that. What's next? 12 rounds of archwing interception with a friend without losing one satellite?

And this is supposed to be a replacement for alerts, which, for all the flaws it had, allowed you to have your nitain/whatever instantly without any kind of long term investment? The only really worthy reward for me is umbral forma, and I cannot justify spending 25-30 hours to get just one. This system just feels super bad, putting those rewards I know I cannot get under my nose. Warframe has never done that to me before.

To be extra clear, I don't like this system, but I would do it over a long period of time if it were like a normal syndicate. Or even over a longer time scale. But such a big time investment over 10 weeks ? This is worthy of shitty f2p games that are desperate for making the user come back everyday, and Warframe is not one of those. Don't make it become one.

Would it be a good idea to reward 5-10 credits per rank in nightwave?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 10:20 AM PST

Honestly im mr10 and if I needed nitain extract right now I would be absolutely fucked. I cant imagine being mr 5 and needing nitain for anything. The rewards for wolf creds are a little too spaced out for my liking.

We could get a 5-10 credit bundle per each rank and I think that would do something to help us out so we feel constant progression.

Alternatively each capture on wolf bois could reward you 2-5 credits and that would make it more easy to farm to get nitain.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Edit: what if the rank 2 reward was 5x nitain instead of a glyph that would blow my mind

Edit 2: I have decided that im gonna spend like all of my wolf creds on nitain (300 wolf creds = 100 nitain) because fuck nitain entirely

Regarding Nightwave: Kill enemies with _______ Damage

    Posted: 04 Mar 2019 07:01 PM PST

With the recent quests of 150 Kills with

    Blast

    Cold

    Heat

quests, I have seen a number of players talking about needing/using weapons with that damage type as its main damage, i.e. tonkor for blast, ignis/atomos/ember for heat, and siebear/galaxion/frost for cold.

    THIS IS WRONG

The quest works if you put elemental mods in any combination onto any weapon. Strapping Cryo Rounds to a Braton will give cold progress, Hellfire for heat, and both for blast.

I repeat, using elemental mods on regular weapons will give progress to the quests. No need for anyone to panic and start looking for weapons with base radiation/toxin/magnetic damage (especially all you new players). Just put an elemental mod or a combination as needed on a weapon and start raking up kills with it. It counts just as much.
