High-level Void missions should have Axi relics on rotation B

    Posted: 04 May 2019 02:13 PM PDT

High-level Void missions should have Axi relics on rotation B as well as on C. Currently, Mithra and Mot drop Neo relics on three rotations (A, A, and B) and Axi relics on only one (C). And poor Belenus only offers a chance for an Axi on C, which is ridiculous for 20 waves of defense.

Similar missions in the starchart such as Xini drop Neo on rotation A only, leaving both B and C exclusively Axi. There's no reason for the Void not to follow suit, which would put endless missions closer in efficiency to speedrunning Marduk.

    DE: Please Rethink the Wolf

    Posted: 04 May 2019 09:59 PM PDT

I ran four relics on Void missions today. Three of them automatically failed because the Wolf of Saturn Six showed up. Two of them were Interception, where the towers get captured and then he and his lackeys block you from recapturing them. The other was a Mobile Defense, where the Void T4 damage boost plus his lackey's molotovs burned through the defense target in about twenty seconds.

As someone who's come to this subreddit looking for help with the Wolf of Saturn Six before, I'm nine times out of ten the best equipped to handle him in my squad. By best equipped, I mean that using my Galatine Prime modded exactly to the specifics of the commenters on this subreddit, I can get him to half health. It only takes about 15-20 minutes of me burning through energy using Nyx's absorb to just wail on him nonstop until I'm out of energy, back off and shoot at him until I have energy, and then jump back in. This is the point that the host usually gets frustrated and leaves. I know all of the hardcore players that have thousands of hours played, maxed mods, epic rivens, and all of the optimum gear claim to not have a problem with him, but the rest of us who aren't at that level are TRYING to get all of those things. But we can't level gear, unlock relics, or do anything but Plains and Fortuna unless we want this big asshole to come punch us in the face. Having him hound the newer and mid-tier players is a head-scratching decision given that his massive armor and health pool was designed around the fact that you aren't happy with how quickly minmaxed gear can finish off normal content. Based on the feedback from the high end players, this is an abject failure because their best loadouts can kick his teeth in in under a minute. The ONLY thing that he's doing at this point is frustrating people that have no access to the tools necessary to make him manageable.

So many people say everyone is just whining when they criticize the Wolf and that we need to "get good," but there's only so much we can do. Even when listening to veteran advice and organizing all of the gear we currently have in the best way possible, he's STILL too tanky to take on efficiently. This is only compounded by the fact that he's completely random: Jordas Golem is a tanky, boring slog of a boss fight as well. But if you don't want to fight him, or don't have the proper gear to do so, then you just don't have to go to his mission. Simple as that. I don't have the right gear or enough skill to take on the triple Eidolon Hunt, so I just don't. We don't have that option with Wolf. WoW doesn't spawn its raid bosses in the world at random. Nameless King doesn't invade the Undead Settlement when he feels like it. Alduin doesn't roam Skyrim and fight you at random. You shouldn't be spawning your insanely scaled endgame boss everywhere either.

If the Wolf had a death mark system like the rest of the assassins, or his own node on the map, this could all be avoided. People who aren't ready for the Wolf wouldn't have him show up and ruin the experience for them. Or you could make him actually dangerous with abilities that can do damage and kill us, but make it so we can actually kill him too. I'd rather lose a fight that's difficult and takes skill rather than spend an hour of my life mindlessly smashing melee just to make a gigantic number get smaller.

Some concerns and ideas on how to improve the market/weapon preview screen (because let's all admit it, the version shown on the devstream is not very good)

Apparently, Baro Ki'Teer doesn't recognise Euphona Prime as a Prime item

    Posted: 04 May 2019 10:14 AM PDT

So, there is a thing that if you talk to Baro without having any prime item in your loadout (even sentinel weapons count) he will shit talk you as if you were a bad/poor customer.

So, as it turns out, I had only Euphona Prime as a Prime item in my loadout and he started to shit talk me.

This is unnacaptable! I demand my Orokin made (and not replicated by tenno, mind you) slugthrower of choice to be recognised by this pretentious pyramid head cosplayer!

P.S. He doesn't recognise Prime Sentinels ( without weapons) and Odonata Prime as well.

The store UI needs further work

    Posted: 04 May 2019 11:48 AM PDT

The prototype of the new store UI shown on the stream looks good stylistically, but it only really addresses one issue - blueprint visibility. I believe there is another problem:
Browsing store for weapons without an open wiki is a guessing game. The store does a bad job at explaining what kind of weapon is presented. Even some of the most basic info isn't there. Like:

    1 - The weapon type.
Rifle or shotgun? Staff or polearm? Who knows. Sometimes it's mentioned in the description, sometimes it isn't. A couple of examples: Astilla, Kohm.
Sure, you can look closer at the stats to deduce the type, but... that brings me to the second point:

2 - The numbers, what do they mean?
Even just reading the stats requires prior knowledge, since a lot of them are unintuitive or unexplained. Do I want high number for accuracy, or "accuracy" means spread and lower is better? Does "reload" mean time or speed? Same question for fire rate? How does fire rate work with burst weapons? How does punch through work? What the hek is an "active trigger"?
There are also a lot of stats that just aren't mentioned. Ammo reserve, pellet number for shotguns, range for beams, number of shots per burst, scope/zoom stats for rifles, hitscan/projectile indicator and projectile speed, explosion radius... There are a lot of things that go into a weapon's feel, many of which are impossible to judge from the store page. Speaking of which:

    3 - The feel.
There's more to the weapons than just their stats. Some weapons have interesting sound or reload animations. There are cool firing effects and projectile behaviors. Try this: Think of some of your favorite weapons and what made them your favorites and try to find that on the store pages. It may be there (things aren't that bad), but it also may not, misrepresenting what that weapon really is.

So, my suggestion is: At the very least the warframe in the background should fire the gun, not just hold it. Even better would be a manual "fire" button, so we can get a feel for the weapon - that would honestly work better than half of the existing stat sheet. That doesn't mean the stat sheet isn't needed though. Especially since it will not the first thing visible anymore. If you don't need to be afraid of overwhelming a newbie, then you don't need to hide or omit anything and the spreadsheet can be expanded to include some of the stuff I mentioned above and possibly additional explanations for the numbers.
