    Let me paint a picture for you. You're out alone, cruising the vast emptiness that is space, collecting resources or catching space-fish, or whatever it is you do. All by yourself in the crushing dark, no one to keep you company.

    It's enough drive you mad.

    With such a mind numbing bleakness, how are you to keep your wits about you? To stay sane in the face of the desolate nothingness that surrounds your ship?
    The same way you'd stay sane on a road trip: you listen to some music.
    But not just any music, no. You're the captain of a spaceship, and that means you listen to shanties. Space-shanties.
    Your crew sings as one, a dozen voices in chorus, chanting as they swab the space-deck and lower the space-sails.
    "Ship to starboard!" comes down from the space crows-nest, and indeed, off in the distance, skulking between the asteroids is a grineer transport, no doubt loaded down with space-treasure. You shift course, directing or sleek and menacing vessel towards your unknowing prey. You can almost smell the space-gold it carries.

    Imagine it; your new life as a space ninja pirate. Unstoppable, implacable, a terror of the space-waves.

    And that's why we need shanties with Empyrean

    I usually can't stand battle passes because the free tier gives you absolutely nothing of worth. This game is really showing how free to play should be done. You are not only giving us great cosmetics, but you are also giving us worthwhile loot like formas and other goodies. Knowing that cuts into a lot of potential profit you still give it away anyways. I thank you DE and I will continue to support such great developers.
