Posted: 15 Jul 2019 08:19 AM PDT Here are a few tiny things I've learned in my relatively brief time that, surprisingly enough, not everyone knows. More for those who are coming behind me than those who are in front of me, but I've seen a few MR15+ who didn't know these things. Pressing 'H' will switch you to aim over the other shoulder. Excellent for around-the-corner shots at cameras, although you'll still be using the same stance. So the shot will come from an odd angle. Pressing 'Y' while hacking will use your cipher to auto complete. I spent nearly a year not realizing this. Albeit, by this time I can do most of them by memory. The remote observers do not allow you to observe remotely. Please do not buy these en mass like I did when I first began. They are literally just for selfies from the days before screen capture and captura. You can put the Demolyst to sleep with Ivara's arrows. It seems to last a lot longer than any other crowd control ability I've seen so far. If you're not confident with Sanctuary yet, bring Ivara! Murder enemies willy nilly with melee (or a sacrifice a mod slot to put {hush} on a weapon). As long as they aren't shooting at something behind you, you'll be doing just dandy until you hit the cliff where you can't kill them fast enough. Ivara with {motus signal} is surprisingly fun and fast while invisible. Just be careful not to slide or bullet jump. But you can roll and leap without concern, much like getting around a Hobbled Dragon Key's movement restriction. You can leave Limbo in the rift when you switch to Spoiler mode. When you return, he'll still be there. Limbo is surprisingly fun in the Conclave, when you find someone to play with. Most people don't bother using their abilities, depending on instant-down weapons and crazy leaping about. Woopsie doodle. Limbo can put Grineer drones into stasis once they're in the rift. Just remember: once they come out of stasis they'll trigger the alert in spy missions. Limbo can make Corpus 'panic' buttons useless by dropping a cataclysm on top of them. Now you can leisurely murder the patrols in spy vaults. Limbo can revive people, pets, and persons while sitting safe and sound in the rift. You can put hotkeys on the gear wheels. For me, + is archwing, - is k-drive, . is kinetic siphon trap and ten key 0 is Synthesis Scanner You can put hotkeys on emotes. Now become the fastest handshake offer in the west. Nyx can mind control Zanuka. Hydroid's barrage makes everyone in the area lay down and take a nap until it's over. It also lasts a surprisingly long time when charged. You, too, can eat when Inaros puts an enemy in the sand with {devour}. Just walk up to a squirming enemy and press x to slurp them down for health. ( ͡° ͜Ê– ͡°) The Tenno that eats together, beats together. .. Wait, that's not right.. Shotguns can damage the Juggernaut even when his belly isn't exposed. Either via punch through or simply one of those many bits of shrapnel finding the gaps in the hit box, I'm not certain. Revenant's {Entrall} is incredibly powerful for survival, or for any situation where you're getting overwhelmed. The enthralled enemies tend to take a higher threat priority than you, and the pillars they leave behind make more enthralls. Drop it into the middle of a horde and watch them turn on themselves. Add Mesmer for free invincibility and free enthralling. It takes longer than you'd expect to get shot seven times while the mass is busy shooting themselves. Nullifiers have small drones at the top of the bubble. While they're hard-ish to hit when they're moving due to 'snapping' to position, if you do destroy them the nullifer's ability to nullify is gone. For good. Add {Shattering Impact} to the {Sarpa} or the {Redeemer}. Watch all those yellow bars become red. Eat Heavy Gunners for breakfast. Be wary of using it on the Eidolons, however; You'll do more damage overall, but lose the ability to do especially high damage with radiation types. Good when you first start out since your void weapon will be doing a lot more work - if you have to depend on it, like I used too. Also good for Ambulas! Strip armor, then switch to Spoiler Mode to finish them off. Combine the above trick with Mirage. 6 points of armor stripping per hit, multiple bullets per swing (each counting as a hit), times five. What armor? Speaking of gun-blades, be careful of your stances! {High Noon} is the default animation of the Redeemer. One swing, followed by two slow shots if you press twice more after holding. {Bullet Dance} is the Sarpa's default animation, instant shoot, shoot, roll and shoot, keeping rolling and shooting crazily as you back away. If you like how the Redeemer handles, get the {High Noon}. If you like how the Sarpa handles, get the {Bullet Dance}. Either fighting style will be applied to either gun-blade depending on your choice. Speaking of Bullet Dance, holding back while pressing melee will make you stand in one place and continually shoot forward with small pauses. Rather than having to press twice, stop, and do it again to prevent the crazy roll back. Oberon's {hallowed ground} will prevent status effects, but will not prevent eximus auras. You'll still be drained by those Ancient Disruptors. Be aware! Mag's {pull} is one of the best first abiliites in the game. I'd put it right up there above Inaros's sand. It doesn't seem like much, but the ability to rag doll and reposition enemies no matter their level is incredibly potent. Want a whole bunch of high level kills all at once? Stand at the edge of a cliff and use pull. For a measly 25 energy cost, everyone in front of you is now flying past you to their deaths. Frost's bubble technically breaks line of sight. Use it to snap enemies out of Arbiter drone invincibility! Or to break other 'line of sight' abilities. Loki can switch teleport with the Stalker, the Grustrag Three, and Zanuka. Bombs away over the edge of a platform, Tenno. As Valkyr, everyone knows about the 'circle of death'. That is, the circle that constantly expands around you - if any enemies are left inside when {hysteria} ends, you'll take every bit of damage you ignored while raging. What most people don't know is that this circle doesn't seem to extend very far into the Z-levels. Just bullet jump straight up and end hysteria - boom, no damage taken. If you're stuck behind a door that won't open - a known glitch that pops up sometimes when in a mission with other people and not the host - just shake hands with another Tenno! One of you will be swung past the broken door. Do it again to bring the other over. If you're in a mission with someone who just doesn't want to play - or is busy being AFK - the friendship doors can be a pain. Worry not, Tenno! Put yourself near the door, then do nothing but press 'x'. Eventually they'll be considered AFK, and then you'll be considered AFK as long as you aren't moving. The friendship button will accept a single user press at that point. Double tap shift before you land from a long jump. If you hit the ground while rolling, or just a second afterwards, you won't super-hero pose while the enemies shoot in you in the back. Instead, you'll pop up to your feet and keep going. It doesn't seem like much, but it can save your life in higher missions with those 60, 70, 80 or 100+ enemies. What tiny tricks have you found? [link] [comments] |
