Give new players a way of getting rid of their Lich, lower Lich mission level or give players a proper warning.

Case in point: my MR5 clanmate. For those who don't remember, MR5 if roughly 3 frames and 5-8 fully levelled weapons. That's it. These players sometimes don't even have basic mods like Vital Sense or a single 60/60 mod. These players are struggling vs lvl 35 enemies.

Yet, they are able to unlock their own personal Lich that is going to nerf their Endo, Credits, mods and all other resource income for a very, very long time. Their missions require them to farm Kuva Siphons (lvl 35), and later, farming murmur vs level 50-60 enemies and it gets progressively harder from there, up to levels 100-120 (sometimes this is starting level if they join someone else's game). It's impossible for them to do it on their own, and it will be impossible for the next 40+ or so hours if not helped. They've most likely been playing for less hours then it's going to take them to kill their first Lich. Taxing/helping such a player out would require me to focus farm for a number of hours (3-6h) before they'd be able to finish them off.

The "opt-in" system of Liches does absolutely zero for 90% of players, those newbies who don't read patch notes, those who have no idea what they're getting themselves into. They see a level 20 enemy, they down them, they press X, because the game tells them to. How are they supposed to know they are required to run missions of levels 60-120 to get rid of this menace?

I remember that "new player experience" was on the roadmap that you've set for yourself. Let me tell you, this is making new player experience a living hell and is killing their joy of the game.

Edit: There's already been plenty of good suggestions (locking the larvling spawn to 50+ lvl enemies/missions, full star chart completion, an "off" button for any Lich related mechanics, only spawn in kuva floods, mini quest with appropriate level and more). It's not about making the actual Liches easier, but, they should be relocated further down in progression / locked behind something else then "any lvl 20+ Grineer mission".

The Ropalolyst is the buggiest piece of content I've ever played in Warframe

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 05:35 PM PST

Literally 5/10 tries, the fight bugs out to the point where it can't be finished. Either one person gets stuck riding it forever, or no one can ride it, or the AI bugs out after someone mounts it, and flies up to the top of the screen where no one can damage or mount it again.

Makes farming Wisp parts infuriating for all the wrong reasons.

The Invasion system should be revamped with the Lich system and be called "The Kuva Lich System 2.0.0"

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 07:03 AM PST

After playing Warframe for almost 2 weeks straight after The Old Blood's release, there was just one thing that kept itching my ass over and over again. If DE was inspired to make the lich system from the nemesis system in Shadows of War, then they should make the lichs more organic. In Warframe, what is perhaps one of the most organic systems that we have that involves nodes being under some kind of control between factions?

    Invasions.

\Disclaimer: Understandably, DE has plans to make liches for not just the grineer, but also corpus and infested, so DE could currently just make placeholders for the corpus and infested. Onto the plan!)

The Grineer, Corpus, and Infested all fight against each other in faction wars in the current Invasions system, but the only incentive for players to play these invasion missions are the fieldrons, detonite injectors, or mutagen masses, as well as mutalist nav coordinates, faction-special weapon parts, potatoes, forma, and exilus adapters. What if DE revamps this system so now, instead of the heads of the factions facilitating the invasions, one or more kuva lich is now facilitating them. Not only are they facilitating these invasions, but they can also hold onto the nodes for as long as they can until either the tenno decides to intervene and effectively remove their influence from these nodes or opposing liches decides that the node should be taken over by themselves.

We also need a reason to convert liches, just like how players in Shadow of War want to convert orcs for being part of the player's army and fortresses. Perhaps DE could create nodes of blue influence that resemble the control a converted lich has on the system, and instead of the liches fighting just normal faction heads for nodes, what if converted liches and opposing liches both fought each other throughout the system? Players can join in the fight to aid the converted liches by: a. completing missions in converted nodes to hinder the opposing liches' progress and b. completing missions in opposing nodes to progress the converted liches's progress on defeating the opposing liches. Now, with the scaffolding of the revamped Invasions system, there needs to be incentive for players to even participate in these invasion missions.

Instead of giving just weapons with modular bonus status effects and kuva, converted liches should also passively give the player resources on conquered nodes and eliminating opposing nodes should give the converted liches more resources to facilitate a larger army (ie. better versions of current troops, and perhaps experimental troops) and the players gain a portion of the goodies stolen from the opposing liches as well as the goodies given by the current Invasion system. There should also be special missions that can be done by players to not just severely hinder the opposing liches' progress, but also potentially gives the player an experimental weapon part. These experimental parts can eventually either build a new weapon or modify an existing one in the player's arsenal, however they would only last for either a certain time period or a certain number of missions. Now, how is the player going to eliminate the lich head facilitating these invasions?

The invasion missions shouldn't be facilitated by just the lich, but also by a command of weaker versions of liches (DE, make a Warframe-themed name for these lesser liches). For the hierarchy, the lowest could be Lieutenant, followed by Captain, Colonel, and General lich. To follow the definition of "lich" by DE, the general lich can pop up anytime on its conquered territories and die by the player, however it cannot be permanently killed by the tenno unless the tenno gains intel on the requiem mods by mercying those within the hierarchy of the lich's command. As such, any lesser lich can give the player either requiem information or locations on special goodies, with the lowest in the heirarchy giving the minimal amount of info or worse type of reward and the one's at the highest giving the most amount of info or best type of reward. Killing these lesser liches also potentially give you information find out who in your converted army is going to be assassinated, and you can carry out anti-assassination missions that will either kill the assassin or ensure the protection of the target. It is also possible to convert these lesser liches and add them to your converted liches' hierarchy of command (or keep them in reserves). Also, losing an invasion mission will increase the construction of the Balor Fomorian or the Razorback Armada while winning a special invasion mission will slightly decreases the construction progress, however winning one will only increase the amount of enemies within every invasion node. Now, with most of the revamped system explained, how is DE going to implement it so it's player-friendly and not a hell-hole of figuring it out?

I have two propositions: 1. Use the Invasion's alert screen to show a player-personalized screen of lich invasions, so the nodes that are under control of an opposing lich is the player's personal enemy lich, and 2. Use the Invasions alert screen to show the faction invasion nodes, which uses every lich that exists before the invasion started.

For the first proposition, the player's solar map is personalized so invasions only happen between the player's converted and enemy liches, however, other players could aid the player with the usage of another tab screen that shows current invasions. These players' incentives to aid the invasion are by earning a portion of the player's victory/defeat rewards in accordance of their participation in the invasion, and the participating players can potentially have said-converted lich(es) aid them with their own invasions through proxy, so they are not directly interfering with the player's situation.

For the second proposition, the invasions alert screen shows the overall game's solar map that shows either opposing or converted influence for all players. What changes is that all the converted liches and enemy liches are now participating, and as such, follows part of the current lich system, where the liches that are in-mission depend on who is in the squad, however, progress on the invasion is done in accordance with the Warframe community's participation, so everyone will receive their rewards according to the amount of participation done.

Finally, I can now talk about how players who haven't played The War Within can join in with this system. Instead of saying they're outright liches, DE could name them "Benefactor" and "Opponent" (or some Warframe-themed names), and they are limited to earning only resources and mods, so they cannot earn kuva weapons and experimental weapons parts for participating.

With my complete outlook on how The Kuva Lich System 2.0.0 should be, I know that I've ignored the very first thing of the system, which is how are we going to obtain liches? I've figured that so far, the current kuva larvling system works fine with my 2.0.0 system, however I will accept suggestions from the comments and add them to this post.

You showed us animations of us almost being killed and then successfuly countering the Liches. Why not make this the norm? Die if we fail the QTE and live but he runs away if we fail to guess the Requiem and the QTE ...

DE, Lich's are way too laughably easy to run away from, as they never chase you down far enough.

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 01:58 PM PST

The Lich tends to be pretty forgettable if you don't want to try and kill him (because you don't have the right Parazon sequence or something).

This annoying design makes it so when Lich appears in your exterminate/capture mission you could just run away. They won't be able to chase you down because enemies that can't see and shoot a Warframe after a while (like, say they go too far) will go from Alerted in Suspicious, then back to Unalerted, meaning they are no longer a threat. Makes the Lich less of a Rival or Adversary, hunting you down with a bounty for your head, and more of just another dumb Grineer lancer skoom enemy that you won't worry about them seeing you because you're already 3 rooms ahead of them towards the objective/extraction.

Make it so they Lich's will always know where you are (unless invisible of course) and chase you through the map. If you get way too far away they'll teleport closer too you, like they do when they first enter the mission.
