Time for downvote hell? Access to Railjack should be restricted to people who did the Chimera Prologue at the very least.

Considering how strong everything is I really don't think this is a place where a new player that just got their Wings should be able to wander into. I've seen MR4's board my ship while I was farming Earth Proxima and, as you'd expect, they could do nothing but rely on the higher MR players who came ready for all out war.

Their Arcwings can take no hits at all and their Arc weapons won't even register as a tickle.

If one of these Space Marines so much as sneezes in their general direction they die.

I see two solutions here. First is weakening the enemy, which I am not in favor of. The second is giving Empyrean a higher entry barrier. Which I think would help this be the "end game mode" people have been saying was entirely absent from Warframe.

EDIT: Also, I know Empyrean was used as a way to drag in new players and that certainly played a part in the barrier of entry being so low. It seems DE couldn't decide what to do at that point: Either make it newb friendly for the newbs, or make it hard enough that Mesa actually didn't feel like Overkill. They tried to have their cake and eat it too, and this time that's not really working. The total lack of any tutorials certainly didn't help ANYONE, newbie or vet.

In a game with bullet jumping this is ridiculous. I don't need to know which flight of stairs to take FFS. Just show me where the door to the next tile is.

For the love of god DE, never put anything on timers again.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 02:08 PM PST

The sentient outpost is basically nitain on steroids. It really brings out the worst in people.

So the outpost is available for about 30 minutes. This means rushing as soon as you spawn, so you can maybe do 2 missions. Sometimes you join a mission that is allready done. Now you Abort Mission, this has wasted your precious time.

You join a mission at the beginning, rush to the outpost, loot as many crates and kill everything as fast as possible. Now the items you were after didn`t drop at all (because droprates are abysmal, per usual). So you Abort Mission.

And now the old arguments when nitain was on a timer:

-people have to go to school, collage or their jobs.

    -bla bla

I dont even care to finish this, im kinda done with DE`s shenanigans again....

Warframe needs some restructuring and a lot of old content revision.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 11:12 AM PST

Warframe is a game with a very rich history, passionate developers and player-base that, despite occasional bad apples, is still one of the friendliest out there. However, it is also a live-service, constantly updated product, which, after years of content, sort of lost it's structure and polish.

The cause of this issue is the fact that DE might rely too much on the community and doesn't take the new player experience in mind, which makes the game much more messy from the narrative, gameplay and even thematic standpoint.

Warframe is big and with the constant stream of updates DE is unable to maintain things like timeline, spoilers, huge chunks of content designed for both new and old players and so on. The game is already bad enough at explaining things and sometimes, DE never thinks how bad it might get for someone who does have long history with the game.

History is important here. Second Dream was so good for us because it was the first time something significant happened within the story, to the point where the community did their best to avoid spoiling it. But thinking about it now, the quest will never have the same impact for anyone else - Alad's involvement in the quest makes since only for those who played the Tubemen event, Operators were a surprise that could only appear for a few seconds in a long mission, not run around freely for however long they want.

It makes sense for every old player why Lotus is never a mission control in any new area - Fortuna, Disruptions (where new players meet Little Duck way before they could have talked with her in Fortuna, with no introduction), Railjack, Liches and so on. But for new players? Suddenly their Space Mom just decided not to help or instruct them about something. Imagine a new player getting a Lich (it's not hard getting to War Within), who steals their resources, gives them missions they could not hope to complete alone and Lotus, their guardian, does not address or care about it in any way.

Spoiler-barriers are often forgotten. Operators were used for promos, but what about Railjack spoiling Wally's existence way before the new players have done Chains of Harrow? Remember events? Well, all of their lore is only available on Wiki, despite it being very important to the story sometimes.

I won't even try to discuss how many of the mechanics, like Liches, PoE at night, Railjack and so on, are available for the new players, who have no hype, no power, no context, no idea what they are because DE tries to make content for veterans attractive for the new players. It really harms everyone in the long run. Pubs have players that have no tutorial or any idea what to do and have to google a tutorial, which annoys both new and old players.

Steve doesn't want Warframe to be this game with unconnected islands of content and with Railjack we can hope that he got closer to his vision, even if Railjack is just as big of an island as PoE or Fortuna. But this concept does not just apply to mechanics and content - it applies to everything. Characters are scattered though pieces of lore with no cohesive timeline.

I believe Warframe would be a much more polished game if it accounted for those thing better. If events were turned into quests, junctions were revisioned to add more cohesive and understandable experience for new players, spoilers were accounted for and made as minimal as possible, characters were given proper introduction with their purpose in story, different gameplay mechanics explained in a way which at least tries to hold hand of a confused person just a little bit. I know it's not the priority, but this is an issue which will just get worse at times and make Warframe a game which is harder and harder to get into for any newcomers and I believe everyone understands why this is important.

I met the nicest person today.

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 06:13 PM PST

Today, while I was trying to farm Axi A9 relics to get Ivara Prime Systems Blueprint, the last part of Ivara prime I needed, for almost the entire day, I was so exhausted. When I was about to give up, I matchmade with this guy who equipped an Axi A9 Radiant, but it ended up being an Atlas Prime Neuroptics Blueprint. My heart was so dead. He said "nice" in the chat, I said "not nice". He asked why, I told him the reason. He told me I can trade him some aksomati prime parts or baza prime parts, but I did not have any of those. He eventually told me to give him a redirection mod for that Ivara prime systems blueprint. I was shocked. He truly made my day. In the end, I told him that if I'm a woman I would absolutely marry him. He typed "lol" in the chat and said he is just trying to keep the community nice, then left the squad. I'm here to wish him all the best luck and happiness for the rest of his life.

DE, please let us ditch our lich

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 04:38 PM PST

Before you downvote for asking an old question or making a low effort post, please hear me out.

I recently killed a larva by accident, and, not knowing there was a fix, completed the mission, locking me and my kuva lich together for eternity. I knew nothing about liches before today, and I still don't know how I'm going to solve this problem.

New players simply can't deal with the responsibility of these guys. We don't have the plat or abilities to obtain parazon mods, not the time and strength to kill our demons. If I'm saying anything wrong, it's because I STILL have no idea what I'm doing in this game, much less how to defeat such a challenging foe. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this game, and I'm sure that thousands of people love this feature, but I just can't right now. It's too much work, even for Warframe. And I like a grind, I like setting goals and achieving them, even if it's as insignificant as a video game accomplishment, but this feels like a wall.

I also understand why letting us ignore our lich without consequences would hurt the game: Lich has the wrong gun? Just switch 'm. But at the same time it's not fair to plunge newbies into something they're not ready for.

tl;dr: We need either more education on liches or a way to back out of the commitment, because many of us took it on without thinking or knowing.
