Enemies absolutely DO NOT need a lethality buff

    Posted: 17 Jan 2020 01:56 PM PST

I heard "increase enemy lethality" in the devstream and thought I was having a fucking stroke. The BIGGEST problem with high level enemies is not their health, not their armour, its their ridiculous damage that makes a good 80% of warframes totally useless.

The majority of frames see absolutely no use past starchart content because enemies start oneshotting them. Almost every new/reworked frame has some kind of tanking ability, whether it's from Grendel's big health pool, Atlas' armour rating or Ember getting ANOTHER 90% damage reduction ability.

I get the normal argument used here, X frame isn't used because it doesn't have a useful set of abilities. Except Banshee has the best team damage boost in the game, while Mag has the best CC in the game and one of the best nukes in the game, to take some very commonly memed on but fun frames as an example. There is a reason these frames see barely any use at all while far less interesting frames like Inaros and Revenant see so much use, it's that a good majority of warframes are oneshot fodder. Tanking aside, the Savage Banshee build is literally just a better version of the Pocket Sand Inaros build, but Inaros sees use because he isn't made of toilet paper.

A better example of how the damage issue demolishes the usability of a warframe is Titania. Operator QoL aside, the entire Titania "rework" was nothing more than 3 mods that add up to a passive 76% damage reduction, and that's all it took to push her out of shit tier.

Don't buff enemy damage, if anything it needs to be nerfed or capped to something like level 80 at most.

i love the new corpus ships , clearly they've started to learn how to use the whole tenno orbiter camouflage tech , it's not totally on point yet but it seem to be quite promising so far ^^

Enemies don't need a damage buff

    Posted: 17 Jan 2020 12:20 PM PST

Inaros is already the most popular frame. Arbitrations already lock out frames that survive from ability usage. EHP disparity between frames is absolutely gigantic and frames like Inaros and Rhino can tank more than 20 bullets that outright kill decently built less tanky frames.

Make em more tactical or something. Don't lower the one-shot level to make more missions favor tanks so heavily.

Edit: to those asking for a source on Inaros's popularity, my reply down below:

Devstream last year where they showed usage stats. Don't remember the one. Had to go through with a magnifying glass basically, it's in reverse alphabetical.

Feedback: DE's Analysis of Steve's Survey

    Posted: 17 Jan 2020 12:06 PM PST

EDIT: I'm gonna throw this at the top to clarify a few things on my post. I may have accidentally come off as inflammatory, jaded or like I was trying to poke holes in or invalidate the survey. This is not correct and I apologize for my inability to properly convey myself and my thoughts in the OP.

The survey has produced good information, nothing I could say can change that. From the stream it appears that some of the recent top player complaints have been effectively categorized by the survey for action. The majority of survey participants giving the "Last year rated 1-10" 7's and up is a good thing, it's good that a majority of people surveyed are happy with the game.

This post came about as literally the first thing that popped into my head when watching the 1-10 question on stream and seeing the 28k participation number. I do not know how many people are 'active' players, my point with the 45k peak on Steam charts was a reference point for 28k participation feeling low across all platforms, I wish more people could have/would have participated in the survey, "imagine the data we could have missed".

I also acknowledge my aircraft study analogy falls flat in a major regard, in that study it was a THIS or THAT. Where this survey is THIS data we do know and*, could also be, THAT data we do not know. Inclusive instead of opposing.

My point with this post was to stir further constructive thought and discussion, it has done so IMO.

Thank you to those who have replied, especially those with better understanding of statistics than I.

    ORIGINAL POST:

On devstream 136 they showed the results for Steve's survey. There were approx 28K particpants. Look at steam charts only, the last 24Hr peak for Warframe was 45K players. This obviously does not include console Tenno.

So this is only a 62% participation based on the play statistics of one platform. Participation percentage gets lower when including consoles, but I don't have those numbers.

My main worry comes in the form of a comparison to analysis of aircraft damage in WWII. For those interested this is an example of what I'm talking about https://www.trevorbragdon.com/blog/when-data-gives-the-wrong-solution.

For the the aircraft they were gathering hit location data only from the planes that made it home, coming to the incorrect conclusion that they needed to place armor where the bullet holes were, but the inverse was correct; where they saw no bullet hole were the locations where even a little damage could/would cause catastrophic failure.

Similarly the survey only shows the data of players still invested enough to participate and even that is fractional based upon the analysis of one platform. Those who "didn't make it home" obviously include people who were oblivious to the survey, but my worry resides with those who are no longer invested in/happy enough with Warframe to participate even in the game, much less the survey.

As much as I often scoff at the over-dramatic "I'm leaving and never coming back!" people (sorry), my first thought when seeing the survey results was; there may be 'critical failure' data missing or at least under represented, in the context of this survey (and I guess general feedback as well), without them.

    Your thoughts fellow Tenno?

The 1 million credit alert stacks with your First Win of the Day credit doubling

    Posted: 17 Jan 2020 01:57 PM PST

I just got 2 million credits instead of 1 million credits because this alert was my first mission of the day.

Edit: Credit booster also stacks, clan mate got first win of the day alongside his credit booster and got 4 million credits.
