For those unaware, slotting in a rank 2 vile precision on the Shedu will cause the reload to outpace the fire rate, allowing it to fire constantly without reloading.

Now that the Sentient invasion has begun, DE should make the anomaly mission permanent instead of on a timer.

Scarlet Spear made me realize how much I want shared looting in all missions

    Posted: 14 Apr 2020 01:06 PM PDT

So having played both Space and Ground missions, space missions feels a lot better to me, because the loot pickups are shared, so you don't have to scramble all over the mission while defending the objective to pickup whatever drops and can just focus on that, whereas on the ground mission, you constantly have to run off to pick up drops that dropped around while you defended the objective and/or that drop from other people running off and killing enemies all over the place.

Which is the same issue that survivals and defense missions have currently imo, the fact that you have to constantly run all over the map, to pick up things because other people run all over the map, which then makes everyone else also run all over the map, and it just feels like you have to follow the loot trail most of the time, from one side to the other.

Things new players can do to help in SS

    Posted: 14 Apr 2020 10:15 PM PDT

Grinding out SS this past few days has made me realize that as much talk as there is about a meta, (almost) anyone can contribute in some way. So I thought I'd make a post to help newer players contribute, even if their choice in warframes or weapons are limited.

    General (both modes):
    1) DROP YOUR OPLINK EVERY TIME YOU SEE A LITTLE YELLOW CIRCLE! Even if you're MR1 your oplink does just as much to help as an MR28. This is the #1 way you can help.
    2) Bring your strongest COMBAT warframe. As good as you might be with Loki or Ivara, they're not useful here. This is essentially pure combat unless you're one of the lockdown meta frames. Even if your best combat warframe is Excalibur, that is fine, he can be useful too.
    3) Prioritize getting Arcane Energize early, and then use it in the event. You are helping your entire team.
    4) Related, if you haven't seen much energy drop in a while, stand next to your primary damage dealer and drop an energy pizza. Some frames like Mesa can't take advantage while they're channeling but others will appreciate it.
    5) Team buffs. They're great.

    Ground:
    1) Bring your strongest damage weapon modded for corrosive, even if it's not great it will help.
    2) Remember to shoot at the condrix. The Sentients are probably not something you can handle easily, but the faster the condrix is shut down the fewer sentients spawn and anyone can help shoot at the big glowing circle.
    3) Do what you can to help on the mobile defense part against the Grineer. This is usually where your sentient killer will take a break, collect energy, recast buffs, etc. Do what you can to protect them during that time. Radial Blind is fantastic.
    4) Follow the leader. If you have a high MR Limbo or Mesa in your PUG, there's a good chance they know this event well. Follow them, they usually know where the next condrix spawn is, best places to fight from, etc.

    Space:
    1) Help with Railjack maintenance on the way there. If you have an Omni, put out fires and breaches wherever you can. Fight any boarders, even if you're just temporarily distracting them, it helps.
    2) Get out once you get to the Murex. Most of the evidence on this has been anecdotal but the general consensus seems to be that if you clean your ship of boarders and then get into the Murex it will mostly stay unbothered during the mission. You can help by not sticking around needlessly.
    3) Gather stuff. This is a place a new player can help in the Space missions because of the universal loot mechanic. Most players will appreciate it, maybe that MR28 player with maxed everything doesn't want the cores but I do :)
    4) Don't touch the Railjack. Let the RJ owner drive, and let them decide when to bail on the mission. Wave 5 of a Murex run is a bad time to decide you want to learn how to fly or test out the nav map. At this point, most players who take their RJ into space have a good idea of how many waves they're capable of.

There's probably other things to add but I just wanted to suggest a few things for any newer low MR players who are looking at this event and the meta discussion and feelings discouraged. Really. I'd say most players MR6 or higher are capable of contributing something.

Edit: I focused on Excalibur here mostly because that's who I know, but Mag also has abilities that are useful and Volt is literally a meta frame for this event, so no matter what your starter frame was, you have options

Why don't we have a knockdown resistance Arcane?

    Posted: 14 Apr 2020 01:08 PM PDT

With the recent changes to self damage turned self permastun, why doesn't DE introduce a knockdown resistance Arcane? We have Scarlet Spear, so it would be also very easy to obtain, and we'd have a way to use self stagger weapons with any frame. It would also make a lot more frames more fluid to play in higher level content, in which knockdown immunity is a godsend and sometimes the only reason to bring a certain frame.

Stop the Derelict from being an "Island" of content.

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 12:10 AM PDT

The Derelict as it stands is a pretty annoying place.

Firstly, you have to craft keys to go there.

Secondly, there is no form of matchmaking on the missions.

Thirdly, mutagen sample farming (disgustingly reinvigorated by adding thousands to each clan with the 100x health pad) requires you to go there with 0 goal except to farm thousands of a rare resource.

Since the devs have expressed that they want to create less "islands of content" which is exactly what the Derelict embodies, there is a very simple change that could be made to reinvigorate the area.

Rather than requiring a key be crafted to start each mission, crafting the key would unlock the node permanently. Maybe with the exception of the Lephantis assassination. This would allow for public games to allow other players to join, as well as opening the possibility of void fissures on the Derelict nodes which would allow more meaningful gameplay while farming mutagen.

It could also create a more interesting dynamic when a relic fissure survival could also include a squad bringing dragon keys to open the vault.

Very simply, it would benefit everyone to reattach the Derelict to the star chart.

Today I learned about the dark truth of Affinity vs Shared Affinity

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 12:33 AM PDT

Basically, whenever you kill enemies with your warframe's abilities 100% of the affinity you earn goes to your warframe (even if it's already 30) and if you kill enemies with a weapon it's a 50/50 split between that weapon and your warframe, BUT if someone else kills an enemy, no matter how (abilities, weapons, specters), you get 100% of that affinity, split 25/75 between your warframe (25%) and all your weapons(75% split between weapons equipped. I.e If you have only melee equipped it gets 75% affinity).

Therefore if your warframe is already level 30, you'll be wasting 100% of the affinity by killing with abilities, and 50% killing by killing with any weapon. If a friend does it you'll only be wasting 25%. This heavily incentivizes a support playstyle.

This was a very sad realization. As Ember I no longer saw the juicy pack of enemies as potential victims of my Inferno onslaught, instead, the moment I learned about this I've stopped using my frame's abilities. I can understand the reasons a system like this exist, but man, that's a bummer.

TL;DR You'll acquire a lot more effective affinity if you let other people kill enemies for you IF your Warframe is already level 30. Also you can equip a single weapon and let people do the dirty work to level it REALLY fast. Don't be a leecher please.

Source: This thread and personally tested it for 2 hours straight with a friend after realizing I was getting 5x less weapon affinity than him by spamming Inferno through missions :(
