There is a lot misinformation regarding how to farm Liches and murmur. I made a little guide on how to farm them efficiently.

    Posted: 03 May 2020 02:21 PM PDT

I generally consider the Warframe community to be pretty efficient and well informed even in public matchmaking but the amount of misinformation or lack of information regarding Lich hunting is mind boggling. I find myself running missions on invite only a lot more than any other game mode.

    Lets start with some basics:

    1. Fastest place to spawn Liches? Saturn Cassini. Capture target -> wait for yellow flash and then kill 10 enemies in under a minute -> kill Larving if you want the weapon -> abort mission or extract doesn't matter once you stab the Larving.

    2. How to get Requiem relics? By killing thralls and doing Kuva Floods.

    3. Should I run radiant Requiem relics for getting Requiem mods? NO, you'll always find one of the mod in 3 out of 4 runs when running intact and when you get duplicates of one mod just trade for the ones you're missing

    4. How many thralls can spawn in one mission? 10 without a lich spawning and 20 when a lich spawns: more on this later

Misconception: You shouldn't do missions on your planet occupied by your lich or stab your own lich to keep it's level low

I understand if you're low MR not wanting to deal with level 100 enemies but this isn't the case I've noticed. Literally you'll find everyone in chat LF murmurs but rarely hosting them because of this fear. Often you'll find people not even stabbing their Liches.

Literally the worst thing you can do is unveil all 3 Requiem mods needed first and then try out your combinations. Please don't do this.

Why should I spawn my Lich more often?

    • A Lich spawning is the most efficient way to get closer to killing it. The basic idea is the more your Lich spawns the more combinations you can try out and potentially solving an entire Requiem mod and carrying over the bonus murmur for the next.

If a mod is guessed correctly by testing it on the Lich then the Murmurs will transfer over to the next mod reveal. Meaning if you're almost done revealing your second requim mod and you guess the second mod correctly before revealing it, ALL that second requim murmur progress instantly gets transferred to the third one which is a huge bonus.

    • Stabbing a Lich with a wrong combination gives you a LOT of mumur about 10x of that you get from a single thrall. You should ALWAYS stab your lich it's 100% worth it.

    • A lich converts additional 10 thralls in the mission (more on this later)

How do I spawn my lich more often?

A rage meter can be seen in the Kuva Lich Profile page, representing the likelihood that the Kuva Lich will appear in the player's missions.

How do I increase the rage meter of my Lich?

Only killing thralls in nodes occupied by the player's Kuva Lich will further anger the Kuva Lich and increase the meter.

Occupied node mission completion will not increase the meter NOR will killing thralls in different Kuva Lich nodes (via taxi), although the latter will still give murmur progress.

This is why you SHOULD do missions on your planet occupied by your Lich.

How do I spawn more thralls for more murmur?

When you run a mission you try to kill as many enemies as you can while doing the objective. Only 10 thralls can spawn at a max in one mission and just bum rushing the objective will just give you 3 or 4 thralls at max which results in loss of murmur AND less progress towards your Liches rage but heres the most important part which I see barely anyone doing:

WAIT FOR YOUR LICH TO CONVERT 10 NORMAL ENEMIES TO ADDITIONAL THRALLS FOR MURMUR PROGRESS AND THEN STAB IT

The moment a Lich spawns I notice every single Kuva Bramma missile flying at the Lich and its like everybody loses their minds.

The most efficient way to farm murmur is by making a lich spawn and then stop shooting the Lich and the enemies around it for a minute or two. If you dont have a tanky frame simply go in operator mode and press crouch.

It takes approximately 20s for a Lich to convert 1 thrall and if you just wait around 3 more minutes you can simply farm twice the murmur you normally could and get murmur from stabbing the lich. And thats less than half of the time it takes to run a new mission.

This technique however requires the Lich to be near enemies. If there is no enemy is sight then its simply better to stab the Lich and move on however you can shoot the Lich to make it follow you towards a mob of enemies if you really want to min max.

As leveling up a lich resets the rage meter of your lich you can avoid killing thralls until you're done stabbing the lich. That way any remaining thralls on the mission will increase the rage meter, shortening the time between the next spawn. I usually start my second lich fight with them annoyed instead of indifferent this way. (Credits /u/bltchpls)

    TL;DR

    1. Do Lich missions on your own planet AND stab your Lich whenever you get the opportunity

    2. Kill as many normal enemies as you can to get a max of 10 thrall spawns. Don't just rush objective its a huge loss to just capture target and extract after killing only the thralls which spawned.

    3. After a Lich spawns DO NOT shoot it or any enemy around the Lich for a minute or two. You can get 10 additional thralls simply by doing this.

As someone with a high-end railjack, I didn't like the update... until I joined someone with a low-end railjack and then it all made sense.

    Posted: 03 May 2020 09:45 AM PDT

Reading through the patch notes and playing a couple missions on my ship, I didn't like the update because everything became too easy. With a good ship, even the highest level veil mission was already easy before the update, but after the update any sense of challenge is completely gone.*(EDIT: for reference, here's what the highest veil mission with a public group looked like BEFORE the update - Video)

But then I decided to join a random public match on an earth Railjack mission so I could see how the update affected lower level play. At low level play, all of the changes suddenly made sense. Gameplay was made more exciting as the pilot could move at a decent speed and you could decently fight off hordes of fighters. Hazards were now a rewarding challenge instead of an obnoxious pest. And it didn't feel too easy at all--those hazards will seriously mess you up if you don't address them, and they eat up a LOT more revolite.

After playing a couple missions, it clicked: the update wasn't for me with my high-end railjack. The update was for all the players who never got into railjack in the first place because the early missions turned them off to it.

It reminded me of what DE Scott said in his interview on Quite Shallow's channel. They first want to make sure the base gameplay is strong, then they'll build on that. That's what this update did; it improved the experience of starting and gearing up a railjack as you move through the mission nodes. Once that's a solid experience, they'll build on that for more challenging content for people who have geared out railjacks.

With that in mind, two things:

    1. As an experienced railjack player, I can say that the update absolutely is improvement.
    2. As the base gameplay becomes closer to complete, please don't forget to add more challenging content, because at the moment a geared out railjack faces nothing even close to a challenge even in the highest level veil mission. I know Deadlock Protocol is coming up, so I'm looking forward to that.

    Thanks!

If you're new, it's more fun to do the assassination missions solo

    Posted: 03 May 2020 06:40 PM PDT

I'd turned on public for Jupiter since my Excalibur felt a bit under-powered, despite being at max, and I didn't want to wait for the next frame to finish building. I went to do the Alad V assassination, and Warframe grabbed one other player for it. I made it to the boss, the boss did his monologue thing, and then the other player killed him in what had to be one hit.

I'm pretty sure Alad V's death dialogue was him sobbing. Seriously, he talked at me a lot while I was traveling through the level, and Jupiter itself was when I was starting to feel Excalibur's limits. I kinda lost it laughing

Does anyone else prefer playing solo on these sorts of missions, so that they feel a little less anticlimactic?
