    Since air support charges will no longer be tied to a cosmetic (your landing craft), the same should apply with rep gain from syndicate sigils

    TL;DR: Tying cosmetics with gameplay is a terrible idea and syndicate sigils have this problem significantly worse than landing crafts do. The rate of rep gain should be tied to your rank with that syndicate, we should be able to choose which syndicate to support (with all frames at once) in the syndicate menu, and all syndicate sigils should be normal cosmetics with no special effects or restrictions.

    In case you're not up to date, it was shown in the most recent devstream that you'll be able to choose the effect of your air support charges without being forced to use a specific landing craft. For example, you could use the Xiphos if you like the look of it, and still be able to use the Liset's air support effect in missions.

    Syndicate sigils have the same issue that air support charges had, where you're forced to use a cosmetic that you don't like in order to get the desired effect in a mission. However, syndicate sigils are so much worse and for a lot of reasons:

    • Air support charges have pretty minor effects while syndicate rep is ALWAYS useful, whether you're trying to get items for your own use, make plat by selling things, or just stockpiling on relics.

    • Opting to use a landing craft for its looks has no negative effect on you, you just miss out on something good. Syndicate sigils on the other hand can actively punish you for using a sigil you like by giving you slower rep gain or even decreasing your standing with your allied syndicates.

    • Even if you're ok with giving up one of your sigil slots in order to get rep, you're locked out using a syndicate sigil that you like in the other slot since you can only have one equipped at a time.

    • If a syndicate sigil you like happens to be for the right syndicate, chances are that you still shouldn't use it because you should only be using the highest rank sigil in that syndicate. So basically, you're locked out of using all but 6 syndicate sigils in total, and only 3-4 at any given time.

    There's no good reason why syndicate rep should work this way. Presumably they've kept it this way for lore reasons, i.e. it would be strange to be gaining rep for Red Veil while wearing an Arbiters of Hexis sigil, but gameplay should always take precedence over lore. The whole lore reason doesn't even hold up in the first place since allied syndicates are fine with us killing their death squads that they've sent after our team mates, or even actively helping enemy syndicates during quests.
