Heavy Weapons should be able to damage invulnerable parts of an enemy at reduced damage. My anti-aircraft cannon shouldn't be stopped by a Shield Lancer's shield, or a Necramech's exposed corn.

The only reason we're given access to Gravimags is because our conventional fire was supposedly too weak to punch the "starship-level hull" of the Profit-Taker, so Little Duck gave us a way to use weapons designed to destroy starships, our Archguns. I refuse to believe that the weapon used to punch through the Profit-Taker's hull wouldn't be able to do the same against a Lancer's shield, a Bursa's tiny shield, Lech Kril's body, Lephantis' carapace, GLASS-GODDAMNED ENEMIES MADE OF GLASS, etc.

Make archguns do like, -50% damage against enemy parts that otherwise would have been invulnerable to basic weapons. By the time players are fighting Profit-Taker, assuming they weren't carried all the way there, something like Lech Kril is so trivial that he should be swatted away like a fly already. Let Archguns be the weapon we use to show him the distance between our powers. These are the same weapons we use to destroy fomorians and crewships.

And if being able to damage invulnerable bits will somehow break the game, just make that an exception or something. I can feasibly imagine this might break Alad V's Zanuka fight in some unforeseen way.

The Buzlok Has Been Bugged for 2 Years today

    Posted: 12 Oct 2020 05:02 AM PDT

Chimera update 23.10 was 2 years ago today. It was a substantial update, adding the chimera prologue quest, the Paracesis, arbitrations, and tons of changes and fixes. For most it was just another update, but for me it was the beginning of a long and fruitless fight for my favorite gun.

In the patch notes listed here you'll find a line that briefly mentions weapon aiming changes, specifically for projectile weapons. Unfortunately it does not go too in depth about what actually changed, but we can still see the effects today. For example the bolt series of weapons (among others) now have a noticeable curve to the end of their projectile flight path. demonstration here

To get back to the point this change destroyed the buzlok's accuracy. Before the update the Buzlok had great accuracy both while aiming and hipfiring, and not just because of the homing beacon. This can be seen here in this video that predates the chimera update (warning video may be loud). Note specifically how the projectiles act when fired from the hip. Now the buzlok fires in a wide shotgun like cone. I've done my best to try to capture how poor the accuracy has become in this video. Mods such as recoil reduction and flight speed make no difference in the accuracy loss.

Along side the reduction of accuracy the buzlok also lost one of its most defining features, its pronounced bullet trails. The comparison between old and new can be seen in the previous videos posted above. Somewhere along the way the effect was diminished and now outright uncolorable . no matter what visual settings are chosen. This paired with the scope ui no longer filling the whole screen makes the buzlok a rather unpleasant mess to look at.

I have posted about these outstanding bugs on the official forums once a month, for 8 months, with no official response. I personally cannot provide anymore proof that this weapon is severely broken. The buzlok has been bugged for so long most players who have picked up the gun recently (or within 2 years) would assume that it is functioning correctly, so I wrote this post to shed as much light on the issues as possible.

DE, Uncap or Increase Nightwave Standing, Please.

    Posted: 12 Oct 2020 09:04 AM PDT

Context: This post is for anyone who has been capped out of the current Nightwave Glassmaker. Many of us hit max standing cap (rank 90) and no longer receive anything from NW. FeelsBadMan

Historic Pattern: This same problem happened during Nightwave Intermission II. Many of us were capped and received nothing from NW for 7+ weeks. DE increased the cap at that time once, still wasn't enough, people got capped again, and it still ran way longer than DE intended.

Request: I'm sure DE did not intend for this NW to go this long, we get it. However, it did not end in a timely manner. Please, increase or remove the standing cap, so those of us that have consistently played your game can get the rewards we should have earned from playing your game.

Explain Request: I've seen few other posts like this before, yet DE does not seem to address it. DE, if you see this, what is the reason for a standing cap in the first place? And why is nothing being done to uncap or increase it?

Personal Motivation: I've been playing and consistently been doing the NW since it came out. I and many others have been capped since September 12. Still passively complete bounties, still hear Nora Night saying whatever, and still have to deal with annoying glass enemies, get messages we received standing... When in reality, nothing is given. After experiencing this in NW Intermission II and again for Glassmaker... it is really frustrating, the kindest way it to put it.

Special Note: Any new, casual, returning players who may have just started and who are not capped yet, this problem doesn't affect you, don't worry, you'll likely be fine and not hit the cap before the NW actually ends, thus still earning whatever rewards you get.

It's time to apply the "Disruption Treatment"

    Posted: 12 Oct 2020 02:22 PM PDT

DE, I love Disruption, it feels like a down and dirty endless mission. There's no waiting around, and rewards design is brilliant. You can choose if you'd be farming a certain rotation, how long you want, and if there was a target piece you were there for to know when to bail. So while farming the Gauss pieces on Switch again (since my computer broke and can't fix it again), I found I absolutely loved every aspect of it with the term "endless".

I love the feeling of farming just one certain rotation. Keep all the nodes alive to retain rotation C until it gets too hard or a piece drops, or let one or two die for other rotations. Let's add that to other endless missions so they truly feel endless instead of cyclical. The reward cycle on other endless missions is AABCAABC for Pete's sake.

In survival, keeping life support above a certain threshold can be how you farm continuously. 90% up is rotation C, 60% and up is B, and then A is failure to retain that. Similarly, keeping HP above those thresholds could be how you distinguish excavation and defense missions (though defense missions have the glaring problem that needs to be fixed first in merging all the waves within a rotation), and an inverse 10% and 40% for interception. Let Io on Jupiter be a truly endless rotation A farm without having to either end the mission or go though a full cycle of unwanted rotations.

I also love Disruption because you can speed up the mission by doing multiple nodes at the same time at a higher risk. Interception is a close second in this regard, since the task of holding all 4 points perfectly to do so is inherently harder to do. Giving other missions a way to do the same would be nice. In defense, maybe a console will enrage the enemy and make them spawn much quicker, keeping the number of enemies the same. In survival, maybe life support overcharge can be used as a way to reduce time. Excavation is actually perfect in this regard already as well.

Other endless missions need a way to increase risk for either a greater or a quicker reward. Until then they can't be endless missions, only cyclical.

PS: modify mobile defense to be endless and I'll love you forever 😙💜
