DE, with the conclusion of the current Nightwave story could you PLEASE just agree to NEVER do this shit this way again?

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 12:35 PM PDT

I have NEVER enjoyed any aspect of game less than I have enjoyed SLOWLY walking around a room over and over and over again staring at the floor looking for glowing crap for twenty minutes before giving up and checking if anyone on reddit has figured out which nooks and crannies you crammed everything into this time.

Nightwave S3 Boss proves that The Sergeant can be really engaging if turned into a parkour boss

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 07:58 PM PDT

So we finally got Nightwave S3 Act 5, and the boss is actually really fun and different, but still feels "warframe-y". It's similar to the Hunhow fight from Octavia's Anthem, and though it has some quirks that could stand to be tweaked for a better quality fight, it's overall a good addition to the game. Because like Hunhow's fight, it's almost completely about movement.

The problem is, it's temporary. And while Hunhow's fight can be replayed, it's also mostly a one-and-done type boss.

Meanwhile, we have the sergeant. A joke of a boss. A piece of content that actually is just a meme. Why not embrace that meme? The community kind of loves the character that is The Sergeant; this walking pushover who talks big but has no bite. The problem is, as far as game content goes...he actually is a walking pushover who has no bite.

So go full throttle with the meme! Make him run away from us, using an increasingly elaborate set of hurdles, all while panicking/shittalking/panictalking. Really test out our parkour skills. Throw in some shortcuts that only the most skilled parkour users (Or Titanias/Zephyrs/Wukongs) can clear easily first try. Reward good mastery of movement skills and spacial knowledge with quick victories. Teach new players the virtues of bullet jumping, wall latching, and slide chaining. Do all this, while allowing us to indulge in the power fantasy of chasing down a little meme gremlin, and The Sergeant would actually be an INCREDIBLY fun and different boss. All while staying true to the feel of Warframe, AND serving as a teaching tool, because like a third of the game is really all about mastering your movement.

A friend drew this when she bored and she doesn't play warframe. She was bored so I send her something I would like her to draw and she did it in pencil. I still think it is amazing

    I really liked Glassmaker

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 07:32 PM PDT

Like, for real. I liked the story. I found it interesting, being a slice of what corruption in the Orokin Empire looked like. And I liked Nihil as a character, with his despotic view of justice and hypocrisies. It's kinda relevant IRL too, in these trying times. Voice acting is stellar as always, and I love both Vitrica and the decoration (which is imho one of the best thing DE has ever given us. I love it so much).

The boss fight, while being short and sweet, was visually stunning. And the mechanics, once you got into them, were fine. Not great, but interesting. Something quite different from the regular bullet sponge, and refreshing.

All in all, I think DE did quite good with this latest Nightwave and the additional effort narrative wise was worth it for me. If only they could maintain the pace for putting out this kind of content without falling in the usual hiatus and NW extension... I get that some people find it grating. Well I don't really understand why they hate the glass resonance in mission so passionately but I think weeks of no NW are not acceptable.

That's just my two cents. What do you think?
