[PC] How to exploit Operation: Orphix Venom. 40k+ PLS fix!

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 01:20 PM PST

First of all, this should be an eye opener for DE and let everyone know how the top people on the leaderboard got their cheated points.

    1. The host needs to limit the fps to a low rate like 1 fps.

    2. this will make the mission progress take longer to increase (up to a few seconds to increase by 1%).

    3. the program riva statistic tuner that comes with msi afterburner can be used

    4. now everyone but the host can play the mission and has enough time to kill thousands of enemies in each stage

I hope DE resets the leaderboards.

I would not recommend anyone to take advantage of this "trick".

Tap/Hold ability behavior should be a frame by frame setting, not a universal one

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 11:39 AM PST

When it comes to tap/hold behaviors for abilities it feels more natural to have the settings one way for some frames and the other way around for other frames, but we can only decide how the behavior works with a single universal setting in the options.

For example when I'm playing Vauban I prefer the defualt setting to hold down minelayer to cycle over to flechette orbs and then just tap it to throw them out on demand, but now that I've started playing around with Lavos I'd prefer the inverted behavior of being able to quickly tap the buttons to apply elements to his abilities and then hold to actually cast. I could do both, but because inverting the tap/hold behavior is a universal setting I'd have to go in and change it in the options every time I want to use a different frame which is unnecessarily tedious.

Wouldn't it make a lot more sense for warframes that have tap/hold abilities to have their own individual settings in the aresenal?

Orokin Weapons Development Timeline and Why Necramechs were retired in favor of Warframes

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 06:57 AM PST

The difference between the Necramechs we have now and the Necramechs originally deployed by the Orokin is they never had a Tenno controlling them.

Warframes are not only alive, but work via a transference bolt to allow Tenno to connect to them. While we don't need technological transference anymore after TWW, it still helps the connection.

Meanwhile, Necramechs are golden combat coffins. There is no ai, no transference bolt, no real high technology which makes it operate - just mechanical nuts and gears controlled by an undead corpse. And it makes sense why the Orokin were driven to dig up corpses to throw in mech suits - the Sentients can hack anything more advanced than a kitchen knife. Now, ordinarily these mechs aren't capable of taking orders beyond "go that way and shoot the blinky lights," but with Tenno possessing them through our innate transference (not technological transference as developed by Silvana and Margulis), we bring our centuries of martial training and combat experience to the table. That's what now makes them so deadly.

When Necramechs were first deployed in the Old War, they were probably pretty damn effective against the Sentients. I imagine the first Sentient overmind which tried to hack a Necramech was very confused the few seconds between it realizing it can't hack a corpse and getting arquebus'd in the face by a Voidrig. However, the Sentients could always just, you know, go around areas covered by Necramech deployments. Or develop longer-range weapons to deal with them from afar. Or bomb the Necramechs from the air or in orbit, assuming they gained air or orbital supremacy. Hence Necramechs were steadily replaced with Warframes who were far more versatile than the combat coffins.

The way I see how it went in the development of Orokin strategies against the Sentients:

    1. High-Tech Traditional Armies and Navies a la Dax (Hacked and decimated).
    2. Levied Local Armies a la Ordan Karis (Routed by superior firepower).
    3. Grineer Militarization (Generally ineffective but cheap to replace; cut down by superior firepower).
    4. Weapons of Mass Destruction a la the Infested (Adapted, destroyed more friendly infrastructure than enemies).
    5. Necramechs (Effective for a time, but outmaneuvered/proved strategically insufficient).
    6. Warframes (Effective for a time but disloyal and rebellious).
    7. Tenno (Incredibly effective, allowed the Orokin to at last go on the offensive - even going so far as Tau).
    8. The Lotus (The nail in the coffin for everyone, linking all the Orokin's systems together under one powerful overmind).
