The Plains Liberation Bounty is so incredibly unfair. It hasn't been fixed since April 2019.

    Posted: 28 Dec 2020 04:06 PM PST

The Liberation Bounty involves defending a marked circle from the Grineer/Infested. Enemies inside the circle will drain the Control Meter; the drain rate increases depending on the number of enemies or how advanced the enemy types are (i.e Bombards or Deimos Saxums). Killing enemies that spawns during the Bounty will restore 10%/5% (Plains/Cambion Drift) of the meter. The Bounty ends if the Control Meter never depletes to 0% when the timer lasts the total 2:30 seconds. The bonus objective is where you prevent the Control Meter from dropping below 50%/25% if the Bounty was done in the Plains or the Cambion Drift, respectively.

This particular Bounty in the Plains is flawed through the lack of player control. To elaborate:

    • Control Area

First off, the Control area you need to defend is simply too big in the Plains. Tusk Grineer can easily spawn at the borders of the control area, draining the Control Meter quickly.

    • Tusk Grineer and their spawning/drain mechanics

Second, Tusk Grineer that are not yet deployed from their Firbolgs or Bolkor (Grineer Dropship and Gunship respectively) will still contribute to the draining of the Control Meter). To make matters also worse, it appears that the dropships themselves also contribute to draining the Control Meter.

Finally, Tusk Grineer can somehow spawn out of thin air. No visual/audio feedback such as a dropship or drop pods. They just spawn.

Certain bases on the Plains such as the large Grineer anenna base south of the Ostwan Range suffers these issues a lot. Grineer Firbolgs will spawn towards the lower areas of the Range, and when they arrive, expect nearly half of the Control Meter already drained if you don't spawn camp them. Then Grineer suddenly spawned out of thin air back at the control area while you're spawn camping the dropships!

This Bounty isn't the only flawed Bounty in the Plains (Capture and Assassination Bonus objective), but it is by far the most unfair of them all. It simply attributes to the lack of fair control given to the player; they don't have control over certain factos.

I think there should be a separate quest to start Kuva Lich.

    Posted: 28 Dec 2020 09:00 AM PST

Let me briefly tell you why I think so.

After we finish The War Within quest, we'll watch a video, and later we'll be able to see Kuva Larvling on the map.

We know what Larvling is. But what about newbies who don't have much knowledge of this game? They approach Larvling and press x out of curiosity.

Because, in order to hunt Kuva Lich, you should have all kinds of requiems whenever possible. And he needs powerful Warframes and weapons to hunt down Kuva Lich, which becomes powerful every time his attempt fails.

Of course he will also need a lot of time to hunt Thralls.

We know what Kuva Lich is.

But many newbies don't know what it is.

That's why I think we need a tutorial quest to give newbies time to get ready enough, and also to show we what Kuva Lich is. :(

    Garuda plus Expidite Suffering scales like this: 1x > 5x > 25x > 125x > 625x > 3125x (ellipsis)

    Posted: 28 Dec 2020 03:31 PM PST

So actually a really simple setup, 134% strength, max efficiency and a little duration, hit some enemies with your 4 and spam expidite suffering on them to skyrocket the slash procs to infinity, the rough process being as follows.

    • Your 4 hits the enemies and applies the first of 6 bleed procs.
    • Expidite suffering takes those remaining 5 bleed procs and applies them as once instance of slash damage
    • Your 4 still being in effect turns that into a new bleed proc that is now 5x larger per tick
    • Repeat above 2 steps to get insane exponential scaling.

In theory if you can get 10 stacks of viral on the enemies too it should re-dip at every single stage giving you a scaling like: 1x > 20x > 400x > 8000x...

So yeh, requires a bit of setup but this lets Garuda easily produce slash procs of arbitrarily large sizes.

Anyone know what subsumed abilities work for Umbra AI? (some do work)

    Posted: 28 Dec 2020 02:42 PM PST

I've been doing a ton of testing on console, and so far only found that Umbra AI can use Tesla Nervos and Molt. I've been putting things on slash dash, since it removes his ability to slash dash off a cliff and instakill his hp.

I tried roar and xata's whisper, because xata's whisper would completely fix his stupid innate accuracy debuff. Both pop instantly when you transfer out, and he refuses to use them on his dash or on his javelin. I tried Blood Altar, because that'd be amazing, but no dice. Mind control, because it sounded kinda funny, but no, doesn't work. (Mind control does actually work)

I figured he'd be a lot more useful with necramechs being a thing, so I've been doing a fair bit of testing.

EDIT: of minor note, his abilities count separately, so you can have more than 4 teslas out at once. If you want to do testing, I'm pretty sure the abilities he can use have the ability to have no animation as the common factor. He throws teslas from his crotch, one at a time.

EDIT2: eclipse works on him. Timer doesn't seem to be too wonky either.

Could the Hunhow-Suda boss battle give clues as to when Warframe takes place?

Could the Hunhow-Suda boss battle give clues as to when Warframe takes place?

In case you don't know what I mean - after the Octavia quest, this becomes available in the Cephalon Suda Relay enclave. A replay of the final rap battle against Hunhow. Incident 2318-H

    https://preview.redd.it/248f55f9o0861.png?width=514&format=png&auto=webp&s=b7db2fbd05decc33005db6747758567de9ccae3b

Clearly H stands for Hunhow. But 2318? Certainly not the year in the Gregorian calendar, surely. It's not year 2318 of the Common Era. The Orokin Empire is known to have existed for at least two thousand years (Lephantis Boss battle - "millenia old Orokin-turned-infested ship" -> the ship is at least 2000 years old) so that's not enough time for the background events to have taken place.

    BUT

I think this could be an indication (if 2318 really is a year, which it might not be) that the calendar was reset with the Collapse of the Orokin Empire. Which would put the era of Warframe, roughly, 2300 years after that event.

Are the obelisks still the best way to mine Deimos?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2020 07:29 PM PST

I took about a two month break from Warframe, and at the time I stopped playing the Deimos obelisks were basically required for mining because of abysmal droprates. Is that still the case or have things been fixed since?
