[Rant] Why am I surprised that Cetus bounties are still broken?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 03:47 AM PST

So today I went back to Cetus to do the bounties for the intermission. Last time I had to farm Cetus bounties was like a year ago when I needed two eidolon lenses for every focus school (so you can guess how much I had to grind) and I was baffled by the sheer amount of bugs and glitches that randomly prevented players from obtaining bonus objectives or outright completing the bounty. It was an extremely frustrating experience, and I can only imagine how much worse it could be to a new player, given that it's the first "open world" area that they encounter. Back to today: i just failed a T1 bounty because the game didn't spawn enough enemies, and i believe that at this point DE doesn't care enough about Plains of Eidolon and new players' experience.

What's with this necramech glitch where you can't enter the mech, revive, use powers, pause, or die?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 09:44 PM PST

That's a huge amount of bullshit to deal with. Sometimes, I can't even exit the mech to exit (why can't you exit in the mech?), so all your work goes to waste. You have to hard reset the entire game. Has nobody else experienced this?

    A long lost love

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 09:39 PM PST

I'm trying to figure out why somewhere along the journey of playing warframe, I stopped finding it extraordinarily fun. Don't get me wrong, the game is absolutely still fun to play, but - I just Don't see it the same way I used to.

I started playing warframe back in 2014 on PC. I was in the Ice Alliance (hello to any fellow Tenno from Panzerfaust!), and I remember truly loving the game every day I played it. People say the game was a lot more rng based and grindy...but then why do I truly miss that feeling of getting a part I need after days of running void mission with my squad? And while that may sound exhausting - I never really got /frustrated/ with the game even if it was a little rng heavy. I remember playing the second dream for the first time, and it unlocking a whole new world for me, I remember the week I decided to get my poor little starter volt through every planet just to unlock the map- and it didn't feel like my hand was being held, or rather clenched, along the way.

I know things like the new star chart and junction system, nightwave, relics, and others are all supposed to make the game more enjoyable for all players...but then why does it just feel like it's lost its soul?

I'm not sure. I don't think I'm burnt out, because I don't play enough to cause that anymore. But I'm really wondering if it's just me, or if you guys have noticed too?

Anyway thank you for your time, and good luck, Tenno!

Console Orphix Venom: don't have your own mech? Here's how to help.

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 09:31 PM PST

If you didn't know, you don't need your own mech to participate! The only requirements are to have completed quests "The War Within" (MR5) and "Heart of Deimos."

Father leaves renter mechs around for you to use. They're unmodded so they don't do much damage and are slow, but that's okay! There's still plenty you can do to help.

Most important thing is to learn the pattern! After 123, then it's usually 312213. Sometimes it's 321123. Teach it to others, tag the next spot. This will hold true unless you get two Orphixes at once, in which case you probably want to extract anyway. On that note, extraction is always off of 2.

If you don't know the pattern, you'll be spending all your time getting from one location to the other and not helping or fighting. Speaking of which, learn to and do use the boost (sprint). It can be controlled with the movement...buttons?...stick? Whatever your equivalent to a and d are. Not the camera controls.

You're not going to be a big damage dealer, so your role is support. Take out resonators, which you can usually one shot with melee or slam attacks. Mausolon takes too long. Melee recovers faster, but is more likely to need to be repeated every once in a while. Learn where the hard to get to or hard to find ones are and go after those first. Pay attention to where your squad mates are going and head for another.

The next biggest support you can provide is energy orbs for mechs. No pizza party for these guys. The best bet is Hildryn's 4, built for range followed by duration with low strength. Alternatively, there's Gara's 3 with the Spectrosiphon augment mod or Protea's 3. Make sure to park your frame outside the resonator field so it doesn't get disabled and can keep generating energy orbs. The best spot is between where you are and where you're going next.

Healing for mechs is pretty limited, but the rare aura mod Combat Discipline on your Warframe can heal your mech for every kill. I've heard both yes and no on Rejuvenation, haven't tried it myself. Deimos pets are best: a Vizier Predasite with the Iatric Mycelium mod or any Vulpaphyla with the Martyr Symbiosis mod. Bonewidow can also heal with her 1, which can't be done while 2 is active. Worst case scenario your mech dies and you grab another or spend a bit in spoiler mode where you're more agile and your void blast can usually one shot resonators.

That brings me to the renter mechs. There's Voidrig and Bonewidow. You might not always get much of a choice, and each has their strengths and weaknesses. Voidrig's shield is 360 whereas Bonewidow's is only frontal, but the trade-off is that Bonewidow can heal. Each has their own exalted weapon to deal more damage.

A little off topic, but for rewards, I recommend Ceti Lacera = Basmu > Arcane Energize > Arcane Grace > Arcane Barrier.

    Weapons with Alt Fire Modes/Gimmicks

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 08:17 AM PST

I just finished ranking the Stradavar Prime for mastery, and it got me curious about other weps with Alt firing modes or cool gimmicks. It might not have been the strongest weapon, but using the Zarr with Mirage on defense made me feel like a badass pirate defending the S.S. Cryopod from invaders on the high seas.

What are y'all's favorite weapon gimmicks?

How have you been using the Theorem Arcanes now?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 09:27 AM PST

I know people have been denouncing it as useless since they rely on the low proc chance of the Kitguns, but I've been watching a few videos, reading the Wiki, and testing some of the findings in both myself.

    Theorem Infection

This is also the first time I used the Shield of Shadows Nekros, specifically the build from this video. I used Theorem Infection on him since I heard it boosts the Shadows' damage and status type. This was tested using a Steel Path Corpus Ship map and Residual Viremia (because Toxin bypasses shields). It worked, somewhat. I had the Panzer Vulpaphyla and I had 800-something kills in 10 minutes. I'm actually not sure what killed most of them.

    Theorem Contagion

I first got interested in this because of this video, depicting Avalanches with potentially 10k to 70k damage. I haven't tested this myself, though. I think it'll be somewhat useful for Ember, Frost, Volt, or Grendel. Maybe Lavos too?

    Theorem Demulcent

I decided to test this out on Wisp because I read in the Wiki that this arcane affects some abilities that deal 'Weapon Damage'. It did change the status type of the sparks of Breach Surge, but I couldn't be sure that it boosted their damage, since I had no point of comparison. I think I'm going to use this on Wisp or any other frame I put Breach Surge into. Residual Viremia for Corpus, of course. Probably Residual Boils for Grineer and Infested.

Also, one thing of note: apparently, if you have 2 Kitguns, you can combine the elements of the Residual Arcanes.

EDIT: As in, one Primary Kitgun with Residual Malodor, and one Secondary Kitgun with Residual Viremia. With both Residual Arcanes active, the Theorem Arcane grants you Viral damage. At least, NashPrime says in the first video above.

Boss Drops / Warframe Parts Drops

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 09:28 PM PST

Is there any list of all the places you get warframe parts from? (Basically a boss drop list, butI've heard that some bosses don't drop warframe parts and some parts aren't found on bosses.)

The frames I've got so far - Excalibur - my starter frame, Rhino, Frost, Vauban, Nekros, Valkyr, Nyx, Hydroid, Gara, Loki, Oberon, Volt, Zephyr. Valkyr is the only one at 27, the rest are all maxed. No potatoes though.

I'm just about 100 hours into the game and I'm looking to collect all the frames and max rank them all and then head into the insanity that is primes. And yes, I'm well aware that relic farming is insanity, and the vault just makes things worse.

    Thank you all!

Getting back into Warframe on PS5 and it looks like I’m actually gonna stick with it this time.

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 08:10 AM PST

Up until recently, I was a pretty steady Destiny 2 player. After being turned off with Beyond Light, I just deleted the game. I tried Warframe in the past but it just seemed too easy to be fun.

After being lucky enough to secure a PS5, I saw there was not much content on the system so I decided to give Warframe another try. I was pleasantly surprised that the developers actually implemented Dualsense functions like adaptive trigger effects. This is something Bungie didn't even bother to do with Destiny 2. The graphics are also fantastic and the developers included a huge amount of settings, including a setting for gpu particles, which I've never really seen on a console game.

Now perhaps the biggest improvement so far os the fact that I am already accessing content that is actually challenging in the form of the invasion missions. I had fun frantically trying to slash my way through hordes as I started being more thoughtful about managing abilities.

I definitely feel the itch this time around, and I look forward to seeing some of the newer, open world content.
