TIL: a full squad of Wukongs in Railjack can end up being crew of 20

    Posted: 23 Apr 2021 12:15 PM PDT

Each Wukong can summon 3 twins:

    • In the railjack

    • As tactical ability

    • In the main mission's grounds (grineer objectives, corpus ship tileset), which follows you even on the railjack

    • Can also have a fake twin extra in the form of a Specter

The full 20 would work only on the railjack as not all copies follow you outside, but it sure sounds interesting

Please stop selecting another mission before everyone finishes loading

    Posted: 23 Apr 2021 07:54 PM PDT

You might load in faster than someone else, and you might get impatient and select the next mission as soon as you load in. However, chances are, everyone else in the squad has yet to load in. When you select another mission before everyone loads in, the people who have yet to load in will have their UI bugged and they can't vote.

It doesn't hurt to wait just a few moments before people load in. The sortie isn't that important that you have to save as much time as possible by starting the next mission .5 seconds after you load in. It sucks having to restart the game or telling the squad to force start because you can't see your UI.

    Edit: Fixed a typo

DE, something is bothering me about Corpus Railjack.

    Posted: 23 Apr 2021 08:31 AM PDT

More than anything else (and there is a lot of that "anything else") is the new Orphix mission. Why are the Sentients not accompanying their Orphix with Sentient fighters? Why are the Corpus not actively fighting back against the space terminators shaped like elaborate sex toys? Why are the Corpus not even acknowledging the Sentient threat? They're a way bigger threat than the Tenno. But forget the ravenous goatse portal spawning robot demons in the basement, we have GOT to kill that Tenno tugboat.

If the New War is supposed to feel like an ongoing conflict, it fails. It doesn't even feel passive aggressive. Surely we can get some voice line fluff to back up what is happening on screen, right? Warframe feels less and less immersive with every update, but all it would take is a few tiny details to make the game feel more alive. Corpus crew not so much as reacting to their ship getting hijacked by Sentients is a real disappointment.

Plat and you: how to overcome burnout and grind.

    Posted: 23 Apr 2021 02:09 PM PDT

As a 6 year vet, I would like to share my personal views on how I keep myself from burning out with frustrating grinds.

This isnt a "HOW 2 GET PLAT FAST 2021 STILL WORKING" guide. More a bit of a mindset to sometimes keep at hand. It is mostly aimed at newer players, though it likely applies to everyone.

Warframe has immense content, but much of it comes with various layers of inconvenience. Sometimes the RNG or drop chances are atrocious. Other times they are exclusive from content you cannot stand. Some is too difficult for newer players, or simply too unbearably time consuming or plain boring to pursue.

DE sometimes has implemented decisions that merely make the game frustrating to play, and slamming yourself against that barrier repeatedly is bound to leave your patience bruised and lead to lack of enjoyment.

The thing to keep in mind is that PLATINUM IS POWER. VERY FEW THINGS CANT BE PURCHASED OR TRADED WITH PLAT.

It is essential, in my opinion, to come across a functional way to make plat in order to keep you stocked in things like slots, catalysts, and others.

However, most guides will teach you active plat farming methods.

I instead encourage passive plat farming: the idea is to try to make plat without a focused grind, because otherwise all you are doing is replace a boring, unenjoyable grind by another.

This is going to fall upon you to figure out: seek out a way of playing the game that is both enjoyable and profitable. As such, dont follow my example as gospel. To me, here's what worked:

-Syndicate content This is as brainless as it gets. Spend 10 seconds placing an invisible decoration (alpha at zero on your frame, and just play as normal. It is literally as braindead as it sounds. I keep a endless supply of all augment mods offered by my chosen syndicates posted in the market website and whenever i have 75k standing or more, i open up business. At a price of 10 platinum per mod (lower than most people charge) i immediately get swarmed with requests. On good days i ckear all 125k standing on RV and SM in 40 minutes. Thats 100 platinum right there. Super safe, completely passive. I dont even care to do the syndicate missions. Just playing my game as normal.

-Riven mods and Anasa sculptures from sorties

I like doing sorties. Difficulty is just fine for me to use nonmeta frames. I enjoy going on a full covenant run as harrow, or bring my super frail glass cannon banshee. I strive to do them daily simply because, to me, sorties ARE enjoyable content, if simple. As a result, i get a variety of worthwhile rewards. Blue and orange potatoes are a free 20 plat off of my expenses, so is forna - both are welcome rewards. Endo is itself worth stockpiling. Boosters are always helpful as well.

Rivens... I do not care for. I consider the system to be a waste of time. We already are OP compared to our enemies, making the increased power meaningless. It is also wrapped in multiple layers of RNG, and has more in common with a jacklot spin than a meaningful investment of resources. As a result, I barely care to even open them. Most rivens simply get sold off within 10 minutes of a sortie. Prices vary, but you can make 25-50 platinum off of popular types, sometimes increasing wjen new weapons are released. As a result, every day i may make a bunch of plat jyst by doing what I like.

And ayatans, I also dont care for. They are an eyesore, and provide endo - which i can effortlessly acquire passively. I dont maxxxx all mods. Some i leave at levels 8-9. Because the endo cost, to me, does not justify the 5-10% increase in one stat. I may lose out in a fraction of dps, but i save up immense amounts of time, make forna reauirements usually lower by 1 (some particularly hungry weapons as much as 2) to get a full build, and hence, sculptures are worthless to me.

But they drop freauemtly, and slotted, sell for 6-10 platinum. Not bad, for something i passively gain with no use for. I simply stockpile them, slot them, then bulk sell in groups of 6. Effort involved? Zero.

    • requiem mods I stockpile these for the simple reason that I like fighting liches. They are amusing foes to take on with non meta builds. I tend to nonchallant murder a lich like... Once a week wjen actually into it (I have long finished my kuva weapon collection). Between all the thralls and the occasional flood, i frequemtly have spare mods that usually go for 10 apiece. Unlike syndicate mods i can keeeeeep farming them. If i needplat NOW, i just grind these.if not, they come around over time.

These passive sources then allow me to trade for things I cannot be assed to farm. I use this plat to get prime sets (like rivens, I find the RNG involved in relics to be a time waster, and the lv10 lith missions literaly bore me to sleep). I also get weird or unusual mods from here, same as farm drops that I do not indulge on. I never liked eidolons. I killed like 3 of them in 4 years, and do not plan to bother again. But i did get arcane energize to 4/5 with just this method and a couple months. Didnt even feel like I worked for them, heh... Same with the various archgun mods dropped by the orb, and in some cases, i got entire warframes out of the market because the grind was disgusting. Harrow. Nidus. G a u s s. By not caring to do that crap content that i simply DO NOT LIKE, i get the rewards without getting frustrated or tired.

Getting to a point where this becomes reliable may take a while, but I still think a lot of people could improve their enjoyment of the game in this manner. Skipping disliked grinds via trading saves more than just time, but it is relevant to bring up that a lot of people I know "avoid the grind" by... Grinding kuva to infinitely roll the mythical god roll riven.for the 70th attempt.

Just my two (hundred) cents on the topic, is all.

A sentinel users guide to sentinels.

    Posted: 23 Apr 2021 10:49 AM PDT

So I know many people consider sentinels completely worthless and while not great I can confidently say that they do serve some useful rolls not fulfilled by kubrows, kavats or their infested counterparts. This guide is mostly for newer players but there may be some info in here that proves useful to older players too.

    What kills sentinels
There's a common assumption that sentinels will die to any stray shot and while this is true stray shots are not actually a frequent cause of sentinel destruction, by default sentinels have a smaller hitbox and a lower threat rating than warframes; with most enemies also being slightly taller than warframes an unprovoked enemy will never be shooting at a sentinel (excepting bombards and everything in orb vallis)

What does kill sentinels is not-stray shots, any attack and some precepts will raise a sentinels threat rating towards the affected enemy usually resulting in rapid destruction of the sentinel.

How to keep your sentinel alive
There are two main options to keeping your sentinel alive, both are fairly basic but only the first and more limiting option seems to be common practice.

    • Don't give your sentinel a gun, this is the most obvious and well known option however it relegates sentinels to nothing more than stat-sticks or GiveMeTheDamnPlant/Fish/Scan bots.
    • Ensure that any time your sentinel shoots an enemy that enemy WILL be inflicted with at least one rad proc, this is a far more effective method of sentinel surviveability as rad procced enemies will not consider the sentinel to have a higher threat rating treating it as if it had never hit them in the first place while still allowing the sentinel to actually contribute to combat. Additionally rad procced enemies can draw aggro from surrounding enemies reducing the volume of fire aimed in your sentinels general direction.

    Uses for sentinels
This is something of an informal personal tier list and will not include all sentinels but rather the ones I find most useful.

    • Dethcube: there are two main uses for this sentinel.
      .
The first is based around the Energy generator mod which is obtainable from Cephalon Simaris for 75k standing and will cause the sentinel to drop an energy orb every 10 kill assists, for the purposes of the mod a kill assist is simply dealing even a single point of damage to an enemy; For this build I recommend a Helstrum which is featured in the weapons section of this guide.
      .
The second use for Dethcube is as additional firepower for cloaked frames around mid level (50-60) as like many companion precepts the Vaporize mod can activate even when the sentinel is cloaked, the cooldown is still 10 seconds however the attack scales with equipped weapon mods making (prisma)burst laser ideal for this build due to the power of secondary weapon mods.
    • Helios: potentially even more versatile than Dethcube however not quite as well scaling there are three main uses for Helios.
      .
One notable use for Helios is as one of the few sentinels actually capable of a meaningful damage output with Deconstructor competing for most powerful sentinel weapon, this is an excellent damage dealer around mid level (50-60) and potentially beyond however for endurance runs or steel path the fall off is sharp and its often better to simply use a Helstrum for status utility purposes.
      .
Another important use for Helios I was surprised to learn isn't universally known is as a stat-stick, gladiator mods equipped on Deconstructor will apply to your melee/exalted-melee weapon, however they will not stack with themselves if also equipped on your regular melee.
      .
Finally Helios works as a GiveMeTheDamnScan bot through the use of the Investigator mod.
    • Djin: while nothing special in regards to precepts Djinn is the only truly immortal sentinel via the Reawaken mod and thus ideal if you want a sentinel soely for the purposes of utility status application; additionally if you have or can obtain a copy of the Thumper mod it has double the attack range of most other sentinels.
    • Wyrm: Negate is another precept mod that some people miss due to being hidden behind Simaris rep and can be particularly useful to frames that are otherwise vulnerable to status (especially toxin) effects; otherwise Wyrm has no major uses besides fashion frame.
    • Oxylus: A niche GiveMeTheDamnPlant/Fish bot but still a useful niche for those nightwave silver grove specter elite weeklies or saving on luminous dye.

Making the best of sentinel weapons
Much like the previous section this is something of an informal tier list and only includes those that I find most useful.

    • Helstrum: Build for viral/rad status, multishot and fire-rate with (primed)firestorm if you have it (ignore damage entierly) and this is the premier status spreading sentinel weapon able to coat entire groups in radiation and viral status; ideal for condition overload or an energy generator dethcube build due to the sheer number of enemies hit with each volley and the safety assuring rad procs that are absent when using sweeper or a gas Cryotra.
    • Deconstructor: Essentially covered in the Dethcube section this weapon deals excellent damage for a sentinel weapon and functions as a gladiator mod stat-stick.
    • Burst Laser: A terrible weapon in and off itself however an excellent statstick for Vaporize or the Hard Engage moa precept.
    • Verglass: Surpassing Deconstructor for most powerful sentinel weapon build it for either viral/rad or viral/heat if your feeling risky, the only reason this is at the bottom of the list rather than the top is a widespread and fairly well supported speculation that the weapon is going to be heavily nerfed sometime in the near future.

    Closing thoughts
Its true that sentinels are not the best companions however they are far from useless and when built right can be taken on long survival and/or steel path runs without having to gimp their effectiveness in exchange for surviveability. I hope you found at least some of this guide helpful and that some who read it may give sentinels another chance.

    Contributions from the comments
When using nuke frames Cryotra may be a desirable alternative to Helstrum as the rapid rate of attrition means enemies may die before the comparatively slow Helstrum projectiles reach them, this is particularly important for Energy Generator builds.
