The Arsenal Divide: Changes & Follow Ups

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 11:01 AM PDT

    Tenno!

Since The Arsenal Divide Workshop launched on Friday, we've been busy developing, testing, and reading responses. We have some preliminary changes to share with everyone! We're posting in a separate thread to highlight the changes, and will do all necessary cross posting in the originals to keep them up to date. This means that June 22 onward has the latest information on The Arsenal Divide!

In the days that passed, we've addressed 3 areas (as well as a 4th bonus one)!

Each one is covered in detail below:

    1) Arcanes:

    Primary and Secondary Dexterity Arcanes:

    - Added +60% Holster Speed

Why: We are including a Holster Speed benefit within the Arcane itself to ensure the whole 'Dexterity' aspect of it is clear with the whole Arsenal being easier to use!

    Primary and Secondary Merciless Arcanes:

    - Reduced MERCILESS Arcanes Duration from 6 to 4 secs

Why: We're simply continuing to balance these (even after posting)! In practice, we felt lowering it was a better start given the pace of true Merciless enemy killing!

P.S the body of the original Dev Workshop missed this, but it was present in the video!

    Dexterity Arcanes: +7.5s Combo Duration

    2) Galvanized Mod Properties:

    Primary

    - Galvanized Scope - Mod Capacity reduced from 14 to 12

    - Galvanized Aptitude - Mod Capacity reduced from 14 to 12

    - Galvanized Chamber - Stack count increased from 4 to 5. Mod Capacity increased from 14 to 16

    Shotgun

    - Galvanized Acceleration - Mod Capacity reduced from 14 to 12

    - Galvanized Savvy - Mod Capacity reduced from 14 to 12

Galvanized Hell - Base Multishot increased from 80% to 110%. Mod Capacity increased from 14 to 16

    Secondary

    - Galvanized Crosshairs - Mod Capacity reduced from 14 to 12

    - Galvanized Shot - Mod Capacity reduced from 14 to 12

    - Galvanized Diffusion - Base multishot increased from 80% to 110%. Mod Capacity increased from 12 to 14

Why: We reviewed feedback about build and Mod options when it comes to Mod Capacity, and felt it was a good idea to change Mod Ranks. Overall we've lowered the required Mod Capacity as a whole per category by 2.

We also changed the Galvanized Chamber so that it is at parity with the Shotgun / Pistol Mods by virtue of maxing the stacks.

    3) Galvanized Mod Acquisition:

Moved all Galvanized Mods to Arbitrations from Steel Path.

Why: This change is rooted in the depth of the new items we're putting in Steel Path with this Update, and the hope some players had about being able to earn the Galvanized Mods before they even arrived on the Steel Path. Since Arbitrations also require a completed Star Chart, but are a step up in difficulty from that base Star Chart, we thought (and so did many of you) that they'd be a good stepping stone for earning some of the new Upgrades!

    Bonus: Beam Weapon Mods!

    4) General Beam Weapon Mod Change:

Ruinous Extension and Sinister Reach are now slottable in the Exilus slot and their text changed from "+X Range" to "+X Beam Length"

Why: While we are in the revision process for all things Mods, some well reasoned suggestions made it aboard!

Since mods are being looked at can we finally have Cold mods changed from Vazarin polarity to Naramon to match the rest?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 01:06 PM PDT

Cold mods having a different polarity is the main offender in capacity issues that will make the new mods go unused imo.

Take this weapon for example : https://i.imgur.com/JdW6eap.png

This is pretty much a standard setup for most all secondaries, and i am at 0 capacity, it is impossible to use any of the new mods even if i wanted to.

There is 1 slot not forma's you might say, but this slot is un-formaable because as i said, cold mods have a different polarity, if i want to use an alternate build on this weapon such as this: https://i.imgur.com/OOY1yUN.png the slot must remain clean.

This is a reoccuring problem across all primary and secondary weapons, melee doesn't suffer as much becasue they have stances, same for Kuva weapons having higher capacity, but for all the rest, these new mods will either be unusable or forced into 1 single build per weapon if you want to use them.

What is the use of having multiple configs if you have to lock yourself into a single one if you want to use the weapon optimally?

As i said the biggest issue is cold mods having Vazarin polarity.

There are a few soloutions to this, the easiest being giving cold mods Naramon polarity the same as the other elements.

Another would be to have a way to forma configs seperatly via somthing like this: https://i.imgur.com/8PTQBvR.jpg

Or somthing that would increase the capacity of any weapon used on up to 40/80.

DE can probably come up with better ideas than me, but no matter the method used mod capacity is suffering and somthing needs to be done about it.

Blood Rush crit chance comparison, before and after SoP Update.

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 10:24 AM PDT

Blood Rush crit chance comparison, before and after SoP Update.

Did some quick math for anyone who is interested in how the Sister's of Parvos update changes to Blood Rush will affect certain weapons. Just chose weapons that I used a lot or others often used in Blood Rush / Weeping Wounds combo builds. Just an analysis, not an opinion on the changes itself.

The reflected crit chances are with blood rush alone, and then blood rush with helios stat stick. No other crit boosting methods were calculated (arcane avenger, warframe abilities, etc).

    TLDR:

    • After the SoP update, you cannot guarantee red crits with blood rush alone anymore with any melee weapon in the game. You can 100% orange crit and have a small chance to red crit if your weapon has 38% or more base crit chance (which is only Heliocor and Fragor Prime, neither known for their slash procs). Less than 38% you can only guarantee yellow crits with a chance for orange.
    • After the SoP update, with 3 gladiator mods on Helios Stat stick, you can 100% orange crit with a weapon over 23% base CC. You can guarantee red crits with 35% base crit chance or more at 12X combo (Reaper Prime is exactly 35% CC). This forces you to use Helios / Helios Prime as your companion to get this result. This also assumes Helios stat stick interaction doesn't get changed.
    • 2 gladiator mods on your melee or Warframe brings Blood Rush back to before the update.
    • If your Warframe(s) of choice only really need 1 arcane slot, and they can take damage to proc it (i.e. Rhino using Iron skin wouldn't work), Arcane Avenger is a great way to get that bonus crit chance without changing your builds. +45% crit chance added after other crit chance bonuses can help push certain weapons up a color tier at 12X combo.

Edit: forgot the images and fixed a typo in the image.

Edit 2: added 3rd image with u/letsgoiowa request for sacrificial steel w/ blood rush, and one just using gladiator might on the build

Edit 3: Here is the link to the Crit Chance Calculation sheet found on the bottom of this wiki page so you can play around with it and see the changes across many base crit chance. I modified this to make the sheets seen here / the analysis.

Edit 4: Added a TLDR for anyone coming in later and just wants a summary.

Edit 5: Added a bullet point regarding Arcane Avenger and how it might be useful on certain frames / melee weapons.

    Current blood rush

    SoP Update blood rush

Requested: SoP Update blood rush w/ sac steel, and blood rush w/ 1 glad mod on the melee (no sac steel)

Warframe has the most unique game summary I've ever experienced.

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 10:33 AM PDT

It's literally "psychic robot ninja commando wizards in space". And the enemy factions are comprised of the biggest tropes in sci-fi, but done well by having unique identities and being distinct from each other in recognizable ways. My point is, tell that description to someone verbally who's never seen warframe before, and see if they get excited or not. This game is an industry outlier that checks all the boxes, but still flies under the radar somehow.

Dear [DE] please do not repeat your mistakes.

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 06:44 AM PDT

Continuing to discuss the problem of "The Arsenal Divide".

The Steel Path was made due to the fact that players were calmly destroying enemies on normal missions.

DE gave players too much damage for weapons.
And now DE repeat the mistake and offer us new mods and arcane for damage to the Steel Path.

    Galvanized Mods

    Ok. What's next? Steel Path+ ?

So Is Vitus Essence Chance To Drop Gonna Be Doubled?

    Posted: 22 Jun 2021 12:29 PM PDT

Arbitrations may have a lower level cap than steel path but it's significantly more annoying and challenging for a solo player, simply due to having one life. You can rely on frames that have cheating death capabilities but those frames also take more damage than tank frames.

However the main point is vitus essence has an extremely low chance of 3% to drop from a drone, in addition to other penalties like air going faster in survival makes it more stressful and more grindy than steel path. Each of these mods i assume is going to cost 20-30 each meaning if you don't have a resource booster you will be farming arbitrations dozens of times just to get one mod which is horrible.

So, is the chance to drop essence going to be doubled to 6% so it's more fair for solo players and players in general? Or, at the very least make it so when you die everything you picked up is saved and you DON'T lose everything it just stops your progress?

I'm likely in the minority that HATES arbitrations RNG but i figured i would make my voice heard since apparently 'many' players wanted the mods to be in arbitrations instead.
