Help me! I want to make a Warframe birthday party to my boyfriend, but I have no idea about the game

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 09:35 AM PDT

Edit: HE SAW THIS POST LOL OH NOOOOO

I created this account and blocked him so he can not see this post LOL but anyways... Edit: Learned the hard way that blocking people in Reddit is useless, rip

My boyfriend loves Warframe. He has played it for over 1800 hours! He always wanted to have a surprise birthday party and I'm ready to give him this gift. The party's theme will obviously be Warframe! I'm a graphic designer and I can make some decorations for the cake and for the table.

But the thing is: Warframe is not a game for me... I'm a Animal Crossing type of girl. I know absolutely nothing about the game and I failed badly when I've tried to play it. The only Warframe things I know about my boyfriend is that he likes Limbo Prime, the pet alien dog (Kubrow?) and he has talked to me about the robot aspirator vacuum trend it happened some months ago.

What other references to the game should I include to the decorations? There are memes, jokes or things only a Warframe player can understand? Do you have any ideas about how can I decorate the party? Please tell! Thanks in advance ~

TLDR: I'm making a surprise b-day party for my bf, but Warframe is an unknown universe for me and I have no idea of what to do

With the upcoming arsenal revisit, isn't it about time to have a look at exalted weapons as well?

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 08:08 AM PDT

Exalted weapons have been in a very poor state in comparison to their normal counterparts for a very long time now ever since melee 3.0 was released,to the point of where abilities like Iron Staff are seen as nothing more but helminth fodder, but why are they so weak?

    1-Stances:

Their stances suck. Extremely low multipliers,0 forced status procks, outdated animations and at worse you are using Diwata where you don't even have a stance. The only exception here is Savagoth, our most recent warframe who has forced slash procks on heavy attacks and his normal E mash combo, but he himself suffers like all the others due to all the other problems exalted melee's systematically experience like:

2-Inability to use any of the systematic mods that exist specifically to support melee as a whole. Not being able to use any of the acolyte mods severely limits their scaling potential.

    3-Garbage stats

Exalted weapons weren't buffed during melee 3.0 leaving them with with awful stats that severely limit them. They have awful status chance across the board with the only ones that have decent amounts of it being Wukongs Iron Staff (which is crippled due to being primarily impact damage) and Savagoths Claws (which is the best overall in terms of stat balance but suffers from poor range). The only reason why some of them like Baruuk's Serene Storm can even work is because DE introduced bandaid mods instead of looking at the larger issue overall.

    Go away now.

We already have pax arcanes that can apply to both primary AND secondary kitguns. There's no good reason for there to be 2 identical sets of new arcanes for pri/sec guns

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 11:39 AM PDT

This is such a blatant grind increase. The two new sets of arcanes (primary/secondary merciless, deadhead, dexterity) are literally identical. There's no good reason for them to be two separate sets of arcanes. Depending on whether these arcanes max out at R3 or R5, that's an extra 30 or 63 arcanes that you'll need to farm just to use the same arcanes on a different weapon type.

Now also add on the fact that you'll also have to farm out an Arcane Unlocker for EVERY SINGLE GUN that you want to use these arcanes on, which cost 15 Steel Essence each.

Oh and don't forget that there's also 9 "Galvanized" mods getting introduced, each of which have 10 ranks. Although these mods have a silver-looking border, so do the Amalgam mods, which cost as much as rare (gold) mods to upgrade. So assuming these new mods cost as much as rare mods, that's 270k endo and 13.5 million credits to max them all out. These new mods also cost 14 capacity each, meaning you'll definitely need to invest more forma into any weapon that you want to use these mods on.

Put all of this together, and it's clear that this update is much less about fixing guns and more about adding more grind to the game. It's even more hilarious because these changes were supposed to make guns Steel Path viable, but all of these things are acquired IN THE STEEL PATH. If I can already clear the Steel Path, then I don't really need these mods/arcanes, and by the time I do finish grinding them, I'll probably have cleared all of SP already.

Overall, this continues a very disappointing trend of bandaid fixing things while adding disgusting amounts of grind just to access those fixes

New mods should be “on hit” and not “on kill”

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 11:18 AM PDT

I mean, all the melee mods are like this. Having it be on kill means the new mods are useless against bosses. It just seems like an unnecessary condition when the focus was to improve gunplay.

Edit: thank you all for your replies. Great discussion. After reflecting, I think on hit may be too much. Maybe on crit or on status effect instead? Or maybe on headshot

DE please put new galvanized mods in Arbitrarions

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 01:48 PM PDT

Putting the new Galvanized mods in Steel Path when their whole purpose is to make guns useable in Steel Path is terrible design.

This is the same mistake they created by putting the new Amps behind Eidolons but you needed to kill Eidolons to get the amps.

This makes little sense especially when Arbitration's exist and they're literally perfect for the new mods.

Arbitrations unlock when you complete the starchart just like steel path so you need to meet the sam requirements and they won't power creep the early game

Arbitration's are a middle tier difficulty between the normal starchart and steel path so it makes sense progression wise and you'd still be able to use your guns to get the mods that make your guns stronger

Arbitrations reward a ton of Endo which is a resource you're going to want to grind anyway to level these new rank 10 mods

You can either make them uncommon rewards from rotations so they're a bit rarer and would make a good platinum farm keeping Arbitrations relevant or put them in the Vitus Store as evergreen sinks for Vitus Essence that will still be worth decent plat.

All in all they make 100% more sense to put here.

Right now I think of wisp's 4, making a portal to the sun is essentially shortening the distance between the sun and whatever planet she's on, meaning the heat and gravity of the sun would tear the planet apart almost instantly, killing everyone. Any other ideas?
