A student of mine accidentally used Warframe info on an "open-book" Shakepeare assignment. Posted: 01 Jun 2021 10:44 AM PDT The assignment question asked something along the lines of "What does the audience learn about such and such characters in this part of A Midsummer Night's Dream?" And the reply, from which the student was allowed to use basically any source, included "Also, Oberon is very powerful, and has abilities such as Smite, Hallowed Ground, Renewal, and Reckoning." I guess next lesson we're going to go over relevant sources again...! [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Jun 2021 09:52 PM PDT Open worlds, interesting story, lots of customization to make you stronger etc, all well and good. But every time I log in, i have no idea what i'm meant to be doing, how to do it, and having to go though half the star chart in mission based events is kinda the worst part of the game (the unique cool missions you sometimes get aside) I've known people who are interested in stuff like the open lands, the plot, the amount of cusmization in both power and looks, ETC... only to be put off by gameplay that is difficult to understand and poorly explained. And yes, I know, the wiki is a thing. Youtube channels are a thing. It's possible to looks things up in the Codex. But honestly? The fact that you have to rely on finding stuff out out of game, and have to read though many, many pages IN game, which by the way are ALSO not well explained in some cases... it's not really a great look for the game, and it makes a barrier for entry that many will find insummontable. TLDR: DE do some things right in my understanding. But helping players both new and returning in understanding the complexities of this game early on and making said early game interesting to new/returning players is NOT ONE OF THEM. Posted: 01 Jun 2021 02:08 PM PDT Invasion rework is long overdue. I've been playing this game for close to 7 years now and I can confidently say that Invasion missions is something that's been overlooked massively by the community and the devs. Back in the days, Invasions were only Exterminates, which made sense given that the faction needs you to kill their enemies. Simple concept, nothing to shabby. But these days you get a lot more mission modes (some make no sense). Invasions are pretty much just regular missions, with weaker friendly AI that are outnumbered 40 to 1. In addition, they have no significance in the grand scheme of things. Sure, the winning faction occupy a node for 24 hours and yeah sure, they get to build their superweapon etc. But isn't the Origin System supposed to be full of conflict? Invasion missions need to have a much bigger scale. In other words, lots of friendly and enemies slugging it out on a tileset. There are PLENTY of invasion ideas on the forums in the past but I don't think the devs really care about those ideas. But I don't think Invasions should just be recycled missions with friendly AI. Remember Assault mode? Yeah, that mission type exists on one tileset. That type of mission mode should be the basis of Invasions, not already existing ones. Current mission types fail to convey a sense of conflict whatsoever. [link] [comments]
