    Throwing weapons, a signature ninja weapon, need a lot of love

    The fact that Fusilai, a Gara signature weapon got left out of the lineup for Prime-ing shows just how much throwing weapons had fallen out of favor. These weapons are signature ninja weapons so they really need quite a bit of love since this is, after all, a game about being a space ninja. And not just upping the stats (except maybe the explosive types, those just need better damage). They have a built-in drawback due to how the weapon type works so they will need an advantage to compensate.

    Here are the main drawbacks to throwing weapons that are inherent to how this weapon type works:

    1. They are not precise so they are inefficient as long range weapons
    2. They travel at an arc
    3. The projectiles are slow

    Upping the damage or making them travel faster would help but will not make them as rewarding as other secondary due to these drawbacks. Eliminating these drawbacks completely would inherently change how the weapon type work so we also shouldn't aim for that, because they should not be pistols just with different animations. So they need some significant features. Now, they don't need to be the most hard hitting weapon in the game. They just need to have a bit of unique mechanics or features that, hopefully, would be fun enough to entice their use. So I would like to brainstorm some of these features or mechanics, which could be used as a stand alone or mix and match between them.

    Idea 1: Combo multiplier. Thrown weapons are practically just knives being thrown at enemies. So they are melee weapons used in a ranged capacity. So one idea is to tie them to the melee combo system where they would also take from the same pool. So they would build melee combo while also benefitting from the combo multiplier. This would create a synergy effect between melee weapon build and the secondary and their interchangeable use.

    Idea 2: Anti-defense feature. Give them inherent punch-through, even through defensive powers like ice shield or even nullifier bubble. They wouldn't pop the bubble, they just bypass it. So you still need to have good aim to kill the nullie inside the bubble. You can even have the lore play out by saying the reason these weapons came back into use in the age of laser guns and bazookas is because energy shield bubbles can't detect them as weapons.

    Idea 3: give them alt fire mode. Like a horizontal spread or a "shotgun style" spread, using all of the "magazine" or a rapid fire continuous shot (like Pandero/Kuva Kraken alt fire) but with no kick back since it's not a gun. These would work only with some buff on damage to make them worthwhile, otherwise they'd just be a weaker Quassus and Arum Spinosa but with the extra drawback of using ammo.

    Idea 4: Homing mechanic, a Buzlok. Alt fire 'tags' an enemy and subsequent attacks will be auto homing on the target. But with the extra mechanic that while homing, it would pass through and damage everything in its path. So if you tag an enemy in the back, any attack thrown will also hit and pass through enemies in between the you and the target.

    Idea 5: a passive benefit or picking up the thrown weapon. Like shown in the new opening movie where the Excalibur picked up a kunai embedded in an enemy, this weapon type could give the benefit of having their spent ammo be picked up, from objects or on enemy bodies.

    Now, we don't need to have all of them implemented for a single weapon. We could mix and match. Like, idea 4 would work on something like Spira Prime because it looks like a drill after all. Or for Hikou and Hikou Prime since they're practically tiny glaives. The Spira could have the shotgun spread alt mode (basically throwing all of the knives in your hands at one direction) while the Kunai could have the rapid fire alt mode, etc. Basically, make each of them unique other than just having different models and stats.

    The point still stands that these weapon type needs a significant benefit in using them to offset their drawbacks so they would be an attractive option for the space ninja. I hope they would get a rework and give an added flavor to the fast-paced action we have come to know and love.

    The only rule I have for this account is that I can only kill enemies with a braton gun, it could be the MK1 braton up to the Braton prime. everything else goes

    Edit: this isnt a challenge run btw, its a meme account to have absurdly high number of kills with the braton family. joining pubs and leeching off players is 100% okay in this run.
