Seifukuframe "Defense trip" Warframe animation short

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 05:00 AM PDT

It feels like the basic cause of current balance issue is not the weapon itself.

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 05:46 PM PDT

It's how the core gameplay of Warframe has been changed with the accumulation of player reinforcement.

Like, in older days of Warframe, you couldn't kill hordes of enemies in a single use of ammo/ability/melee swing.

    • Every primary and/or secondary weapon was a single-target weapon.
    • Your warframes couldn't have 75% ability efficiency.
    • Melee weapons had short range, mostly used as a tool of mobility.
    • Belatedly added explosive weapons had splash damage that obliterates yourself.

    But how about now?

    • You can blow up cluster of enemies with a single shot of Kuva Bramma or the likes of it, without suffering self-damage.
    • Explosive weapons give self-stagger instead, but there are lots of preventive measures as of now.
    • You can spam warframe abilities as you have 75% ability efficiency and energizing dash.
    • Melee weapons got Primed Reach + Critical Mods + Condition Overload + Riven Mods ...etc, getting enormous damage and range boost, resulting in fast multi-kill viability.

In modern days of Warframe you can achieve one-man army, not like it used to be. The pace of gameplay has changed drastically. The play is more like 3rd person hack & slash such as Dynasty Warriors series. Enemies are not a big deal anymore. Even 'elite mobs' that are designed to be a threat to players do not require any deliberate approaches, easily collapsing under aforementioned mob-cleaners. And what is the objectives of most missions that are related to player progress? 'Assasinate/Capture target', 'Exterminate all', 'Kill all the waves', which all benefits from 'speedrunning' with the excessive firepower. Single-target tools are become worthless in this natural selection.

There's still a niche for single-target guns of course, like the Eidolon fights where you HIT the boss, not killing others with said guns.

After all, I think the problem is not 'This weapon weak... that weapon strong...' but the current environment of gameplay where 'room cleaner' is highly recommended. But then, is this hack & slash power fantasy meta is a bad thing? I can't quite put a finger on it. From the introduction of Mercy Kill to recent melee nerf, it seems DE wants to focus on 'something that isn't hack & slash' direction... then got caught in what they have cultivated so far.

Soo, I did a redesign of the Arsenal screen for fun... What do u think?

I made the Skana out of wood.

Dear [DE], a lot of damage ≠ I will use this weapon.

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 11:15 AM PDT

I think in Dev Workshop: The Arsenal Divide [DE] did not solve the main problem:

Big Boom weapons are still better than pew-pew weapons.

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=2viIVNfQfYw&feature=share

Big Boom weapons kill enemies faster.

Big Boom weapons are easier to use.

Big Boom weapons do not reduce mobility.

If the Big Boom weapon is a melee weapon, it also doesn't waste ammo.

Why should I aim at the head to kill one enemy when I can just shoot a Kuva Bramma and destroy fifteen enemies without aiming.

Dear [DE], Please don't forgot about Artemis Bow again with Primary Arcanes.

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 02:41 AM PDT

I recently saw a post on the front page talking about how Exalted weapons need help but it was only talking about melee, i would like to point out that Artemis Bow as been forgotten at every turn also.

When there was a mass Primany and Secondary stat increase, Artemis Bow was forgotten.

Then the bow rework hit, almost all bows got buffs and a charge time decrease, but Artemis Bow got nothing.

Later Split Flights was shown and i waited months and months for it thinking about how good it would be for Artemis Bow, for it to release and not be equipable on it.

Not long after that Weapon Exilus Adapters were shown on devstream, on either that steam or maybe it was the following Hometime steam, Reb was playing Titania (this was about the time she took a small rework and got her deluxe) and mentioned that Dex Pixa would not have the Adapter on release becuase it's considered an Arc weapon and would recieve it later with the Arc weapon rework when they all get it, i took this to mean that Artemis Bow would have it because its a Primary weapon, i waited with my Twich and Teminal Velocity in hand, alas the update came and it did not, and still doesn't, that Arc weapon rework is nowhere to be seen also but i digress.

I make this post with a plea that someone at [DE] will see it and remember that Artemis Bow exists, because at this point i have no hope and am 100% sure that Artemis Bow is going to be forgotten again with this update.

    Please [DE].

New Galvanized Mods could cause problems with modding Primary/Secondary weapons. With all mod slots already polarized, the new mods, which are supposed to buff, wouldn't fit in some builds. I'd like to suggest a few solutions to that maybe upcoming problem with an example.

Quick Notes: Umbra Forma BP in Teshin's Steel Path Honors Next Week & the Nihil Fight Key

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 09:03 PM PDT

Next week will have the Umbra Forma BP in Teshin's Steel Path Honors for 150 Steel Essence as a heads-up.

This week features the Nihil Key for the Nihil fight, which allows players to pick up the Vitrica if they do not have the Heavy Blade yet. It's easy to miss if you haven't read the patch notes that added the Key into the Offerings, but if you defeat Nihil but you already have the Vitrica, you will get a free random Riven Mod from Nihil instead.

We dont need more Umbra frames.

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 07:34 PM PDT

Definitely not a popular thought, but in my opinion we dont need more Umbra frames.
Excalibur was given an Umbra version solely because you cant get his Prime unless you bought the founders pack.

Umbra versions of Valkyr, Ash, Volt, and Mag would be cool but they already have Prime versions. A new Umbra would make its Prime variant redundant.

What I'd suggest instead is making Umbra Forma easier to get. I know its supposed to be rare at the moment but there has to be more ways of getting it.
On top of that, new skins. Having Umbras of Volt or Mag would be great, and I know for sure a lot of people want that mostly because their Prime versions are pretty much just the regular versions with different colors.

With the extra skins idea, there could be a Umbra skin for several frames (Volt, Mag and Rhino for example), and when putting the Umbra Forma on the frame you could get a popup saying that its 'umbra compatible' or something. You get a Umbra skin for your frame once a Umbra Forma is on it, free of charge. If you already have an Umbra forma on one of the frames, you still get the Umbra skin for it.

It adds a new Prime-looking skin to a frame without removing the old (but still nice looking) Prime frames' appearance, and doesnt make the Prime frames obsolete due to a new Umbra version.

I originally had this idea to work with the Echoes of Umbra thing planned (making your frame sentient gives you the umbra skin), but that seems to have been scrapped, so why not go for something thats already in the game?

A compilation of things that are wrong with the Galvanized mod approach

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 01:30 AM PDT

    1. Acquisition is gated behind they very content the mods supposed to help with (Steel Path instead of e.g. Arbitrations. which are leveled between Steel Path and normal content)
    2. %-mods will benefit already strong weapons more than those which are weak (more imbalance between guns)
    3. The high drain significantly hinders usability. This affects shotguns and secondaries in particular due to their reliance on primed mods. There are already 9 Forma builds that can't house all max-rank mods. EDIT: u/guil13st suggested that they might have attempted to make it similar to melee, but forgot about stances which add capacity [also guns have Exilus slots].
    4. Quote u/B_Kura: "ON KILL" is a strict design failure for a mod that is intended to give players more power at higher levels. Needing to kill enemies that you struggle to kill (i.e. need the mods in the first place) for it to activate is self-defeating. Having it drop off once (due to a long ass animation or one of the million knockdowns or just due to another player or status effect killing the enemy) is a giant loss in damage and results in a downward spiral. Its feast or famine.
    5. Quote u/darkshadow: On Kill" also suffers from competition against other players, or even the user's own Warframe abilities like Protea and Xaku's turrets.
    6. Getting 2x the same sets of Arcanes for pimary/secondary is inconsistent with kitgun arcanes
    7. The issue of mandatory mods remains untackled, if not worsened

After about a month of playing, I solo'd my first eidolon!

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 07:50 PM PDT

Ever since completing the 2nd part of the new war i have been putting off getting a better amp from the quills, I just had a lot of stuff in my foundry i wanted to craft and i focused on that for a while. Now that everything i wanted was done crafting i said you know what, i want to be able to do eidolon hunts with people and not be a leach! So I spent all of this week leveling up the quills to lvl 2 stabding, bought the lvl 2 quills amp pieces and farmed the materials for all of them! I finally finished crafting the 3 pieces tonight, got me a very nice amp ( compared to the default dance amp ) and I went into the plains and took on an eidolon solo! The vomolists took me down 3 times and i almost went down a 4th but I clutched up and killed the big wanka. Now all I want to do is eidolon hunt now that i have such a powerful amp ( again, compared to the default dance amp ) I am loving this game!

I believe someone should make record of all "Lich Parts".

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 12:14 AM PDT

I am aware of the randomness involved with the process of "Lich-making". But, I think It would be helpful to categorize their parts... In a similar manner to Kavat characteristics (Peacock Tail, Big Ears, different color variations) or to Kubrow characteristics ( C H O N K and Slim Kubrows, with various Sizes, and Patterns). i must admit that Lich generation seems way more complex than Kubrow or Kavat generation...

I think It would be nice, and, I believe no one has tried to do so... Would It be a good idea to unite as a community to achieve this task? Maybe...

Who would like to start this epic crusade? Or, if the situation demands it... Who would like to join me in this crusade?(Maybe, I may or may not start this tedious task...)

And even if this does not flourish into completion... I believe we may dream.

If dreams can't come true... Then why not... Pretend?

(Maybe we could agree as a community, and start these glorious oddisey, together... Comment down below...)

Suggestion - Random Energy Color Swapper

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 03:47 PM PDT

A long time back, someone bugged their game and got their Supra to fire rainbows.

Thinking about it, I would pay plat for that to be an actual feature.

Sure it's visual terrorism, but so is using White as an energy color. I would much prefer rainbows over flashbangs.
