Without a doubt this is one of the best changes made to nightwave and I don't know why they didn't do it before.

Today, I was in a squad with [DE]Zack

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 08:00 PM PDT

    A shout-out to DE.

I was on my way to confront my sister lich when Zack joined our squad as the 4th member. The rest of the Rando squad were all saying "whaaaat?" And we're super excited.

In the mission, he asked us not to move or shoot cause he had to do some bug testing. After he was done, I managed to get the RJ stuck in the entrance of a cache location entrance which Zack determined was a separate bug.

He apologized and re-invited us into a new squad to finish up the mission together killing all of our liches, which he totally didn't have to do, then he mailed us platinum apologizing for the bug, which again he totally didn't have to do. We were so happy and excited just playing with him.

That is just ridiculously good customer service right there. I've always loved the game and WF is the only one I play, but it cemented my loyalty to the game even more.

Just wanted to throw it out there.

Edit: Thanks so much for the awards! I've never received any until this post. Hats off to the generous community and DE. What a group of creative peeps!

[The Vay Hek-Syndrome] - Why DE should consider adding momentum to enemy movement

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 02:26 PM PDT

Context: "They Vay Hek issue" means that due to the lack of enemy momentum enemy movement is unpredictable and often erratic, in a way that makes any content that relies on tracking-aim a frustrating experience. The prime example for this are the Vay Hek bossfight and glass-resonance infused enemies. The issue however effects all parts of this game and is primarily responsible for as to why even in former less AoE-centric metas projectile weapons (and especially bows) felt unfun, frustrating and punishing to use.

Suggestion: Each enemy should have a "momentum" stat which limits a) turn-speed, b) the acceleration and de-acceleration of movement and c) ducking speed. Heavier units like the Nox will be assigned worse value, while smaller and armor-less enemies like Infested Chargers are allowed faster movement.

Goal: Not only does this change grant enemy types and factions more distinct features, but it opens up the opportunity to make aiming / "skill" more of a relevant factor, allowing more Nox-type enemies that rely on continuous hits against weakspots. By doing so accurate single target weapons can gain a unique role alongside AoE weapons, without competing in a battle they can never win - and without nerfing the latter out of the metagame. It improves existing bossfights and enemies and opens up more balancing levers for DE rather than just health, shields and armor (or in short: bullet sponges). Given that Archwing used to have momentum, the code should already be there - and while this certainly is a change that requires more discussion, it is a step well worth it to make future content fundamentally more interactive and interesting.

    Saryn + Gloom = Immortality

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 11:31 PM PDT

I discovered something about Gloom today: it doesn't give life steal only to weapon attacks, it gives life steal to all the damage you do. And it doesn't require that the creatures taking damage be within its radius either; as long as you have Gloom up, all the damage you do will heal you.

So, to make a long story short, if you put Gloom on Saryn, then as long as you have Gloom active and Spores on anything, you will heal continuously. And if you build her tanky, with Umbral Mods and Adaptation, then even Steel Path enemies struggle to really hurt you - you can just stand there and stare at them as they pour bullets onto you, and watch your health blip down and then fill back up immediately the next time Spores ticks.

I don't know if this is something that other people already discovered or not, but it's new to me and it gave me a good laugh. If it sounds like fun, maybe give it a try.
