    [Spoiler] The final dilemma

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 03:02 PM PST

I emailed DE asking for 1 credit for my birthday, and I got my wish wtf

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 05:45 AM PST

Dear DE, if only 15-20 enemies spawn per minute and I have a bonus reward to kill 30 enemies within a minute, could you please rationalize to me how finishing the bonus objective is possible?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 02:48 PM PST

I think its the general consensus that this update has been a fairly impressive one, what's not impressive is that bounties throughout all 3 open worlds are still not fully functioning, mainly when it has to do with bonus objectives. There's several of these bonus objectives that are simply not possible or you have to have insane luck to maybe finish bonus.

Please DE, we're 3 open worlds in and they all have the same issue.

Time for a round of "Guess the Warframes"

    Posted: 21 Dec 2021 02:32 AM PST

Bounty failed because of BS spawn rates.

    Posted: 21 Dec 2021 01:17 AM PST

Seriously. How hard is it to spawn 100 enemies in 4 minutes? Why are they not seeking us out trying to kill us? Why can't they be tracked as active objectives? Why do the red spawn zones persist when the enemies within have all been slain, to the point of actively hiding enemies on radar? Bounty missions as a whole need a serious overhaul, and it's all the more noticible because the new 'frame is locked behind these missions.

    [Spoiler] Deimos in New War

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 07:48 PM PST

If anyone missed this nice little detail, I would just like to point out that when the Sentients took over the map, Deimos is competely untouched by them.

I personally find this to be abso-fucking-lutely hilarious, because it implies that Ballas was just like: "Oh hell no, I learned my lesson with the Infestation the first time, I'm not touchin that shit again for as long as I live"

[Spoiler] The New War's Scariest Theme

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 09:41 AM PST

    (Resubmitted for proper post formatting)

So this whole train of thought started when I took a look back at the prologues for the quest. I was wondering if the whole Ballas/Erra role reversal thing was foreshadowed at all. What I found ended up being a lot more interesting. It all culminates into the quest's theme of abuse.

The Chimera prologue, to summarize, is when Ballas gave us the bp for the Paracesis. The most important part, however, is his dialogue. And listening to it again with the context of the quest gives it so much more value. He goes on about how the Lotus betrayed us and him, comparing her to a viper, a hawk; manipulating whoever she pleases to get what she wants. We can look back on this now and see that it's clearly him lying in order to get us to fight her. The most worrying part?

    It worked perfectly.

For months on end people kept talking about how they wanted to kill the Lotus - for everything she'd apparently done to us. There were thousands of players wishing death upon her. In reality, this was an abuser painting their victim in a negative light.

This all continues to the actual New War quest, where we see the truth. She's broken and dying, like she tried telling us through the hidden message in Orphix Venom. Even seeing her like this, seeing that she's been manipulated by Ballas and even her own family, used and taken to her breaking point, some players were still upset that "they made our operator a simp" and didn't let us kill her.

Looking at the whole thing in a metatextual sense, how it was so easy to antagonize an abuse victim and turn so many people against someone who was suffering, hits on such a hard level that maybe wasn't even intended. Makes me appreciate the story even more.

[Spoiler] Am I the only one bothered by how "human" sentients are?

    Posted: 21 Dec 2021 01:50 AM PST

I really like the somewhat Lovecraftian vibe Warframe sometimes has, and the Sentients in my eyes used to fit into that vibe; they looked alien, bizarre, powerful and incomprehensible, especially when looking at the scattered bones of the gargantuan Sentient defeated in PoE.

But with TNW, Erra and Hunhow frankly looked kind of pathetic and too human, not in the "these incredible beings are actually more human then we thought kind of way", but more in the "damn, Erra really just looks like a dude in a mocap doing voiceover".

[SPOILER] An antagonist wasted in the New War.

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 06:50 PM PST

Am I the only one who thinks Erra was wasted by being relegated to the role of secondary antagonist ?

He had an entire build-up as if he was going to be a major threat to the system, opening up the possibility that finally Ballas would have an opponent who would force him to make a big plan to win the power game, but in the very begining of the quest Erra made a 180 degree turn in his personality and goals. His implementation in the story was very anticlimactic and that was the quest's biggest flaw in my opinion.

Initially Erra appears as the leader of the Sentients after Hunhow made some miscalculations by trusting his daughter, who was faithful to her deceptive nature (insert Palpatine ironic GIF here) so you'd think he'd be at least smart enough to replace Hunhow as a kind of strategist, right ? After all he is part of a race of super advanced AIs who nearly wiped out the Orokin empire with ease, a race that apparently creates units to fulfill specific functions, but he stupidly believed in someone who is notoriously treacherous and who relies almost entirely on lies and manipulations, if Erra was "designed" or "born" to be a strategist he needs a factory recall ASAP...

(But of course there is a possibility that he is a combat unit that is not suitable for strategic control being made to operate purely at the tactical level.)

He seems to despise the Orokin and the other "bios", referring to the Tenno always as insects, so again I thought "Wow, if no one stops this guy he'll probably follow the genocide route to the end", but he accepts a path of subservience... Wasn't his intention to bring victory to his people ? Erra immediately ceases to be a big threat, basically becoming a overglorified voice control system so Ballas doesn't have to press a few buttons to command the sentient fleet.

In this way Ballas has also been "downgraded" as a villain in my opinion, as we haven't seen for ourselves during New War just how manipulative he is as Erra appears to be more like a naive teenager going through a rebellious phase than the "God of pestilence and mayhem" that his name leads us to believe he would be.

Well, I'll admit I'm a little salty as the plot wasn't quite what I thought it would be, and I have to say that in other departments DE did VERY well, especially with the limitations that the pandemic imposed.

I just think the final stages of the quest could have been more polished and a little better thought out as all those prologues made things really messy and confusing.

For example I think the plot could have gone like this: In the final act Erra personally goes after the Tenno thinking that Ballas is under control and is under check and while the two are battling Ballas tries to take control of Lotus/Natah/Margulis stabbing Erra in the back stealing the crystals (cores ?) From the archons gaining control of the sentients. Erra and the Tenno have to team up to defeat Ballas or something similar.

But yeah that's just my opinion, and sorry for weird English.

[Spoiler] Please make part 2 of the New War’s gameplay a mainstay

    Posted: 20 Dec 2021 01:48 PM PST

    Please make Drifter gameplay mainstay

I really hope it isn't just me, but god damn I loved the Drifter gameplay segment. Most of modern Warframe gameplay is just bulletjumping 20 feet over enemies heads and nuking them from orbit over and over, where the difficulty is just how many more 0's get added to enemy armour values. The Drifter gameplay however, it felt refreshing and new. If it never gets added as a way to play, I might just repeatedly play the quest over and over, whenever we get the option to replay it.

The New War Easter eggs and References

    Posted: 21 Dec 2021 01:15 AM PST

The New war was absolutely amazing, Here are some of the Easter eggs and References we managed to find :

-When the Condrix was firing at Khal in Act 1 that was Mass effect 3 final push reference.

-Teshin does a metal gear revengeance finisher on a sentient.

-There are horse statues aboard the zariman that just like the one from Duviri paradox trailer and also the mask from the trailer is can also be found hanging from a tree.

-Drifter was whistling the exact music from the Duviri trailer (Teasing Us of what's to come next)...

-In Act 3 When you shoot the Murex with forward artillery Cy will say : " great shot kid that was one in a million",that was a reference to Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.

Can't wait till it's repayable so i can look for more.
