DE: Corroding Barrage (Hydroid aug) used to be good— an idea to bring it back to its former glory Posted: 09 Apr 2022 03:03 PM PDT Corroding Barrage is a Hydroid augment that (at max rank) has a 100% chance to inflict a Corrosive proc on enemies hit by Tempest Barrage. It was recently buffed to include a strength bonus to Tempest Barrage. This is nice... but it doesn't really fix what was wrong with Corroding Barrage since the change to status effects. With how Corrosive procs used to work, the augment was great— you created a large field of armor stripping that would gradually and permanently reduce the armor of anything inside it, since Corrosive procs used to be permanent. But now that they're only temporary armor reductions, the ability isn't able to fully strip the armor off targets anymore, and the slow pace of the procs being applied makes for poor armor-stripping in general, even if your intent isn't to fully strip the armor for resistance reasons. My proposed solution:Make Corroding Barrage work like the melee mod Shattering Impact. SI reduces enemy armor by 6 with each hit which includes impact damage. Now, this doesn't seem like a whole lot of reduction, but the hidden aspect that the mod doesn't tell you on the package is that this is BASE armor— that is, the target's armor at lvl0, before level scaling ramps it up. This means that no matter the enemy's level, it will always reduce a target's armor in the same number of hits. A lvl10 Grineer Lancer will have its armor reduced to 0 in (dunno exactly, but we'll say 5) hits, and a lvl1000 Grineer Lancer will still have its armor depleted in 5 hits. If this type of armor reduction is applied to Corroding Barrage, not only will it once again work like it used to, but be better than it used to be, since it won't lose efficacy as the enemy levels increase. Thank you for listening to my TED Talk. [link] [comments] | ||

[SPOILER] In the Camp, has anyone else noticed this? Posted: 09 Apr 2022 01:08 PM PDT One of the hand lights from the Zariman. I saw it while decorating and I just thought it was an odd little detail. I mean I guess it'd make sense for the Drifter to have left it here at some point, but I think its the only Zariman item in the camp. I's on the far side of the camp, hidden under the large leaning tree. I know it's probably nothing but I just thought it was interesting and wondered if anyone else had noticed it.
