    It's rewind time!

DE, I'm tired of joining hosts that can barely run the game. It's time to introduce benchmarks and minimum hosting requirements.

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 08:25 PM PDT

And I'm not even talking about the open-world maps, just regular tile-based missions. At least a third of my squads today seem like they're being run on a cheap laptop from a decade ago in power saver mode. It's not latency, as I can immediately join another game and have no issues, I have my ping limit set low enough to get a warning about possibly not being able to find a squad, I'm usually the only one using this connection, and I have networking priorities setup such that games take bandwidth priority over everything.

Now, the obvious retort is that new players with weaker machines won't be able to find anyone to play with in their lower-end missions if they can't host their own. To that, I point to the phasing out of DX9, x86, and Windows XP support. The reasoning is different, but the effect is essentially the same: People with outdated systems being unable to play the game.

As an aside, I'd love the option to opt-out of hosting and wait for another player to host. I'm from OCE and play on NA a lot, but I don't want to subject NA players to suddenly getting unplayable latency because they haven't set up their ping limit.

    Nightwave: Gild a Modular Item

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 05:07 PM PDT

Nightwave is locking standing behind even more inaccessible content for most players. This needs to change.

I can understand doing something that players can be taxi'd to, or something that people can rush through (like the main quest), but locking a challenge behind an already gated grind is ridiculous. If profit taker wasn't behind 240,000 standing (that is also gated to hell with the syndicate cap), it would be more reasonable.

This week has a nightwave bounty to guild a craft-able item and one to apply 3 forma

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 05:21 PM PDT

I understand DE said that the bounties for the current nightwave aren't changing, but just for feedback sake, I wanted to make this thread.

Crafting and guilding an item like a Zaw or Kitgun is usually a once-and-done activity for most players. Once you have a Zaw you like, and have your Kitgun and Amp built out the way you want them, there isn't a real reason to go back to the system for most players unless they want to experiment or trade them for faction rep, in which case just trading in the gems and fish parts used to make the craft-ables would be a better investment.

As for Forma, I currently have every weapon and frame that I want forma on forma'd out already. Applying any more forma would either break my current builds or be wasteful for a resource that requires 24 hours a pop to craft.

In future nightwaves, I'd personally much rather see more of the challenge bounties that encourage certain missions, rather than crafting ones, but I'm curious how everyone else feels about bounties like this.

    Thank You, Clan Leader

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 04:49 PM PDT

I play Warframe in the PS4 and ever since I began, I've always wanted to join an active clan that dedicates themselves into improving only.

Fast forward to a couple of months, I met a clan leader who is the only active member in his clan. Despite being alone, he persevered and grinded all of the materials to make the clan as pristine as possible. Out of respect for his dedication and being a victim of having inactive clans, I joined him. It was now a two man clan, with hopes that one day, we will be able to at least be featured for our efforts.

Being a shut-in, having some semblance of social interaction in this game was more than enough for me to be happy. Me and my Clan leader would send memes and laugh at immature jokes in our many Voice calls as we destroy hordes of the Grineer, Corpus, and Infested, for their materials to improve our pristine clan. I also made a promise to him out of respect, should he get bored of the game.

Though, as things went by, real-life things started to happen. My Clan Leader told me that he has taking meds due to his mental illness, which I understood and respected him for it. Nevertheless though, he would come back and we would still play together again.

Fast forward around January 2019, we manage to increase our member size from 2 to 5. They were Destiny players that enjoyed Warframe when they felt burnt out. Us five would join on VC's and laugh about immature memes while we grind. It was truly the golden age of our tiny little ghost clan and for once, I was able to smile with the friends I made in Warframe.

But Alas, My Clan Leader told me and the others that he would be leaving Warframe and that it's been a good ride. A good amount of tears came out of my eyes as I muted myself and bawled like a child behind the mic. Nevertheless, I still respected his decision of leaving me and the others.

Before he left, We took a photo with four of our five members.

I promise to you that I will feature our small, humble, ghost clan someday. Hope you come back soon. Thank you so much, Clan Leader.

The root problem with Nightwave seems to be how much of a chore it presents itself as

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 05:23 PM PDT

After some thought, I think I can conclude that a huge portion of the problem with Nightwave is the strict time limits. This ends up making getting on Warframe, a usually casual game, a chore; especially if you're not feeling like it. As someone on this sub said, it's just a series of deadlines, and you can't miss too many or you don't get some of the rewards you want at the end. There is not this problem with Sorties, Alerts, and stuff because you KNOW the rewards will be back in the rotation when you're feeling up to it. That's not how Nightwave works. You HAVE to be done with them by the time the deadline is up or you're missing out on the rewards indefinitely. This is a problem that comes with it being publicly tested, so how does DE fix it and make it a much more enjoyable system?

To make the system more enjoyable for everyone, we have several options. The first is to extend the deadlines by an amount, allowing them to overlap with the next week's missions. This would allow people with tight schedules to have more opportunities to finish the missions. The second option is to completely do away with the time cap on some or all the missions. This would fix an extensive amount of problems with the system and would succeed in making Nightwave feel like less of an obligation to get on and grind every single day. Of course, it may be TOO rewarding, so there may be some adjustments needed. Overall, I think it would feel a lot better than what we have now.

Edit: Another afterthought is that the missions keep expecting the player to have stuff that quite a few players actually DON'T have (Ayatans, SU Standing, all that jazz.) So I guess going easier on those missions would fix this as well.

Edit 2: Another good addition would be more clarity on how many missions you can afford to miss to get rank 30
