DE, please stop using damage caps and crit/status immunity for "difficulty".

    Posted: 14 Jun 2019 05:04 PM PDT

Undermining core mechanics only makes things more annoying and time-consuming, not more difficult, and it ends up making the gameplay dull. There's no point to understanding damage vulnerabilities, building top-end weapons, or seeking out powerful rivens if we can't apply them during boss fights, where they should matter the most. A decently-modded MK1-Braton should not be as viable against a boss unit as a heavily-modded end-game weapon.

Removing mechanics isn't always a fundamentally bad design, but you're taking it too far. Nullifiers are a (relatively) good design because you still have plenty of alternatives to your frame powers - the rest of your arsenal - and the removal can be short-circuited by destroying the bubble. It mixes up the gameplay and encourages you to approach the unit differently. Dropping them out of fissures is annoying, but that's a problem with fissures and not the unit itself.

I hate providing negative feedback without also giving ideas for what could change, but there's not much that can be said there.

    • Design fights around your core mechanics being present instead of being absent.
    • Add mechanics to fights to make them difficult instead of removing them.
    • Encourage players understanding mechanics to be effective.
    • Where you do remove mechanics, make sure it doesn't cripple a player's entire arsenal.
    • Add optional "hard modes" to fights, offering better rewards at the cost of a fight requiring a significantly better loadout.

Thermia Fractures should be a bounty

    Posted: 14 Jun 2019 04:42 PM PDT

Basically what the title says. On the Plains, the Ghoul hunt, the Plague Star, even the Eidolon hunts are all available as bounties. I think Fractures should be handled the same way on Fortuna. Keep them in the open world, sure, but let people who want to do Fractures have a way to just do fractures, like the Eidolon Hunts.

I might just be salty from not being able to find a group, but I think this would be a good addition.

Wisps, please stop using your shock motes in Hydron

    Posted: 14 Jun 2019 12:09 PM PDT

it stuns the enemies thereby slowing the run.

I immediately thought of this when i started ranking up my Wisp two days ago (PS4).

    I hope everyone realizes that:
    • you don't have to mindlessly use all 3 of your reservoirs
    • it's Hydron. it's not like the cryopod is going to explode if we don't stun the enemies every 3 seconds
    • avoiding slowing hydron runs is the same principle as people not bringing a slowva, using nyx' 3, ranged mesa using her 2, people hating on max range cataclysm limbo etc in hydron

I shared this with a few hydron squadmates while 7-formaing my fulmin. yesterday i got good reactions: "thanks for mentioning, i wouldn't have noticed if u hadn't said something" & "u should post that on reddit"

but in my hydron run earlier today, after i explained:
    them: but it works
me: yes. it stuns the enemies thereby slowing the run
    them: ok calm ur tiddies
me: i am being calm. even with a speedva right now, it's still staggering the enemies a noticeable amount
    them: what a crybaby
me: i am trying to be perfectly reasonable by stating a valid observation them: then use saryn and wipe everything
me: except i'm formaing my fulmin
    them: then stop complaining

EDIT: i would like to clarify the following, to avoid further misconstruing my intention with the post:
    • this is not an attempt speed-running or hyper optimizing hydron runs. like the examples i've stated, you would not deliberately slow down down a hydron run. similarly, you can easily avoid dropping a shock reservoir. even if you accidentally place one, you can easily replace it
    • from the wiki: The Shock Mote stores an electrical charge that zaps up to 5 enemies within 15meters with chain lightning, dealing 10 Electric damage with 100% status chance to stun enemies.
    • reservoirs attach to squadmates and the shock mote effect is persistent for the duration. like someone mentioned, we're talking about 4 players shocking 5 enemies each in a radius affected by the wisp owner's ability range
    • even with a small radius, most wisps drop their reservoirs near the cryopod making squadmates susceptible to running into them
