To all the Chroma mains out there

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 01:51 PM PST

    Suck it up.

Removing self-damage from the game is absolutely a good thing in every way possible.

That's how it always should have been from the beginning, if we have to "sacrifice" one frame for the benefit of everyone else, so be it.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let's discuss the REAL issue here:

Chroma is one the coolest designed warframes in the game with one of the worst designed abilities in the game.

His overall kit is ass, and the fact that he needs to abuse such a retarded mechanic as self-damage to make him very good is terrible to begin with.

He really only has one build and his playstyle is one-dimensional.

Besides, Chroma is still FINE and is very powerful and you can stack up his absurdely powerful buffs by taking damage from enemies, shockingly.

I would much rather DE actually rework Chroma entirely than to let him keep his one dumb party trick.

If anything, this whole situation is actually the perfect possibility for DE to take a closer look at Chroma and potentially make really good changes.

So, please continue to talk about Chroma and how he's "dead" or whatever, make DE pay attention to him, but please don't ask them to give him back that awful mechanic.

Chroma needs and deserves a proper rework.

One day, the Space Dragons will rise again, don't lose hope just yet.

With the new 100 energy/ammo/health pizza's on the way, DE should also look back at the Detonite/Fieldron/Mutagen Research and change it to give us multiple of the resource instead of 1 every 12 hours per blueprint (obviously increasing the crafting cost).

WIth Titiana's Tribute getting a QoL buff that boosts the ease of use in a game as face paced as Warframe, now is a good time to point out that Grendel's Nourish works exactly the same way and needs the same QoL treatment.

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 04:06 PM PST

Grendel is a really fun Warframe solo, but his only team friendly ability is tied to the 2 worst things you can have on a warframe ability:

Hold to cycle effects. Effect dependent on enemy type consumed.

On the topic of underused arcanes

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 03:34 PM PST

It was very clear in the dev stream that the gang was dissatisfied with the Arcane meta. They mentioned how Arcanes are supposed to be unique, spur-of-the-moment buffs, but that most players just toss on double energize, or double grace and call it a day. The fix for this is apparently to eliminate double stacking arcanes, but I think this ignores some pretty important flaws in the system. Namely the fact that meta arcanes aren't used so much because they're good, but because the others are bad.

Take for example arcane pulse. Right now it's useless as a team support because the radius is so small. But even if DE increases the radius and strength, it will STILL be a subpar arcane, because things like vazarin, repair, and elevate can provide on-demand healing that isn't dependant on drops. Sure, this could be an interesting way to turn Nekros or even Nezha into a healer, but this application is SO much more niche than something like energy regeneration or an armor buff.

The reason why the arcane meta exists is because there are VERY few that consistently benefit the gameplay. Arcane avenger and arcane guardian require next to no player input to proc. Arcane arachne and arcane victory have requirements that are comparatively clunky for the effects they provide. Then there are arcanes like bodyguard, that end up being next to useless, because we have pack leader.

Removing double stacking will not shake up the arcane meta. Double grace inaros is just going to be grace/guardian inaros. Frames that were using double energize will just toss on something like guardian or consequence in the open slot.

This was mentioned by chat, and the response from Steve was that weaker arcanes will have stronger and longer effects. But to elevate the use of underused arcanes, the effects themselves need to be revised, not just the proc rate and strength.

I think I've figured out why "kill Dargyn Pilots before they hit the ground" rivens are so inconsistent

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 09:28 PM PST

Alright so the other night I finally got one of those rivens again, the ones that say to kill... I think it said 5? Dargyn Pilots before they hit the ground (this one specified solo, though that's not relevant)

After having to wait half an hour for it to be daytime in PoE since Dargyns don't spawn at night, I grab my max-range Khora and start flying around looking for the things.

An hour later (or however long the day time period lasts in PoE), I only just barely got it during that weird sunset period where the water damages you, but no Vomvalysts have appeared yet. I was killing these dargyn pilots pretty much the whole time, too, but most just weren't counting.

But a single one of them had actually fallen out of their Dargyn when it blew up without being killed in the process, proceeded to walk into a strangledome, and that guy counted. The rest that counted were similar, but all just standing around on the ground and hadn't taken off yet.

It seems to me that Dargyns that spawn mid-flight don't properly set the "grounded" state of the Pilot correctly, so it won't count until he hits the ground and then is lifted again (khora, zephyr, that one zaw arcane, letting him actually get into another Dargyn, etc)

This particular Riven challenge really needs to be fixed, it's right up there with "defense target needs to take no damage" on "infuriating riven challenges" for me.

Btw, it wound up being a Dual Kamas riven.

Hema Research still a long grind

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 10:25 AM PST

With railjack costs reduced, is there a chance that the cost of researching Hema can be reduced too? In the looks of time farmed vs time used, it doesn't pay off. Even if the research cost was reduced by 90%, the farm would still take forever but be more worth farming. The weapon isn't all that great compared to what other stuff we have nowdays. The bramma is now one of the top weapons, easy to get with lich changes, and is getting a buff soon with self damage getting changed. Mutagen samples have two options for farming, 1, you run eris for a reduced drop rate but you don't use materials on keys. Or you run the orokin derelict and use materials for keys to unlock the nodes. I propose either a 90% reduced material cost, setting the needed mutagen samples to 500, already way higher than anything else in the dojo, or giving the hema a HUGE buff to equal the time used to farm it.
