The light wave / pulse that's emitted from you every few seconds during a crime scene investigation should hint at the location of nearby clues

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 10:35 AM PDT

I know this suggestion is pretty late but I thought I'd throw it out there anyways. Currently these light pulses do nothing except for slightly lighting up the environment. Instead, they could briefly highlight nearby clues or emit a sound when they "hit" a clue.

The pulses shouldn't make finding clues stupidly easy, so they could make the pulses come out less frequently if that's necessary. But however they implement it, having ANYTHING to help you find clues would make the crime scenes so much less tedious to play through.

I did a lot of testing on the Vitrica, here's what I found out

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 09:01 PM PDT

Basic Mechanics: While aimgliding, performing ANY type of melee attack will launch a high velocity glass projectile towards your aiming reticle. When a glass projectile hits a surface or enemy, the projectile explodes in a 6m radius. Any enemies hit by the blast will become encased in glass after 1 second, staying encased and unable to move for 6 more seconds. Performing a slam attack will launch a wave of energy forwards, causing any glassed enemies hit by the wave to explode for 999 damage in a 4m AoE (or 6m if a heavy slam is used).

Glass Explosion Details: Glassed enemy explosion has a base damage of 999 regardless of whether a normal slam or heavy slam is used to shatter an enemy. However if a heavy slam is used, the explosion damage is multiplied by your current combo multiplier. Aside from the damage, the explosion has the same stats as the weapon itself, including its 23% crit chance, 2.3x crit multiplier, 33% status chance, and its 30%/30%/40% IPS distribution. The explosion benefits from mods that increase base damage, physical/elemental damage, critical stats, status chance, and faction damage. The explosion can proc modded elements, and can also proc multiple elements at once with enough status chance. The explosion seems to have about 80-90% damage falloff, although it might actually go all the way up to 100% falloff at the very very edges of the range.

Other Random Useful Info: The glass explosion damage is not affected by Seismic Wave. If a normal slam is used to create an energy wave and shatter an enemy, every enemy hit by the wave will give 1 combo (2 if they were glassed). If a heavy slam is used to create an energy wave, any glass explosions will count as heavy attacks for True Steel. Heavy slam waves are also wider than normal waves, and have a guaranteed impact proc on every enemy hit (good for Condition Overload). Energy waves have a speed of 40 m/s, traveling a total of 40m with a normal slam attack or 80m with a heavy slam.

That's all the useful info I could figure out for the Vitrica, so I hope it's useful for some of you!

In the Nezha Leverian, a child is found wearing Nezha's helmet. Are helmets detachable and hollow or did it carve the infested goop out of a decapitated Nezha?

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 01:53 PM PDT

If it's the first option, how did that helmet even get into the child's hands?

The new Mastery Rank icons are a downgrade, please change or revert them.

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 07:10 AM PDT

I don't know why they were changed, but please reconsider this.

The old icons followed a coherent pattern, with new shapes being added to the Tenno crest with each increase in rank, as the symbol gradually became larger and more complex. This showed the progression visually and made them easy to tell apart. They were also clean and simple, and blended nicely into the UI.

The new icons only do the progression pattern up to rank 12, before disregarding the concept. After 13-15 they start going off the rails and don't even resemble the Tenno symbol or previous icons at all.

They also don't look very good in game. They're overly detailed and barely legible at their now very small size. These are tiny UI icons, those scratches aren't even visible in game. They also look somewhat out of place, which I think is mainly caused by the new rectangular backgrounds.

    Possible solutions:

    A. Simply revert them back to the old icons. If it aint broke don't fix it.

    B. Redesign the new symbols after rank 12 to follow the pattern and more closely resemble the old ones. Remove the grey backgrounds and make them bigger in the friend/clan lists as well. They could potentially be quite nice if you fix all that stuff.

C.* Add an option to use legacy mastery symbols in the UI, so everyone is happy.

Update*: Apparently they added a legacy mastery sigil alongside a new one, which is nice. Perhaps an option to use the legacy symbols in the UI as well could be a good idea?

Update 2: As TheGreenHaloMan has pointed out, the old symbol progression was evocative of a blooming lotus flower, which is cool and thematically fitting.

    The Glassmaker battle.

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 11:36 AM PDT

Absolutely loved this boss! It was different, had some nice lore behind it, didn't feel overly strung out with invulnerability "phases" that made sense.

You have to make use of mobility and aiming during mobility which I enjoyed! A good way of testing people on a key part of the games movement!

Good boss. Not necessarily going to ask for more bosses like this, but it was certainly a nice change of pace!

Edit: Wow, some people REALLY didn't like this fight. Each to their own I suppose. I do agree with a lot of you though. It's fine as a Nightwave boss, wouldn't pass as a regular one.
