This is from the Official Warframe manual and is kind of not fit for a game that big.

No pod to defend when i was farming for ash parts on Arva Vector, Neptune. This happened to me 3 times already that I gave up on doing this mission on my 3rd try in for all the work getting to the end part where there is nothing there.

Warframe's main quest chain is not as short as some people think (approx. 6.5h for a veteran to replay)

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 06:48 AM PST

Inspired by this article by DE claiming that the game has 30h+ of cinematic quests I decided to replay the entire main quest chain. Here's how long it took me to complete it as a veteran:

    Main quest chain

    1. Awakening - 15min
    2. Vor's Prize - 15 min (not replayable)
    3. Once Awake - 10 min
    4. The Archwing - 15 min
    5. Stolen Dreams - 20 min
    6. The New Strange - 30 min
    7. Natah) - 40 min
    8. The Second Dream - 40 min
    9. The War Within - 60 min
    10. Chains of Harrow - 40 min
    11. Apostary Prologue - 5 min
    12. The Sacrifice - 55 min

    New War

    1. Chimera Prologue - 10 min (not replayable)

    2. Erra) (not replayable) + The Maker - 10 min

    Total: 385 min = approximately 6.5 h (13 h total for new players)

Note that these times include watching the cinematics and watching all dialogue play. New players would probably take 2x as long since they don't have AOE nuking abilities, fast moving frames, experience with all in game mechanics etc making it around 13h to complete the entire main quest chain. I am also completely excluding farming times for all resources required to progress further.

I think the aricle's claim that the game has 30 h of cinematic quests is a bit bold considering that the first cinematic quest is technically The Second Dream which is more or less in the middle of the main quest chain. It probably includes all quests in the game.

    Side quests:

    Vox Solaris)

    Saya's Vigil

    The Deadlock Protocol

    Call of the Tempestarii

    The Waverider

    Rising Tide

    Octavia's Anthem

    The Glast Gambit

    Hidden Messages

    The Limbo Theorem

    Sands of Inaros

    Mask of the Revenant

    Heart of Deimos

These quests each on average should take a veteran around 30 min to complete so we can safely assume 1 h for new players making 13 h total. (I can't be bothered to replay and time them)

This gives us a total of 26 h of gameplay required to complete all quests in Warframe. If we assume the number of 30 h is correct we are left with 4 h of gameplay for The New War or 2 h for a veteran.

Treasurers are funny little dudes (feat. mag and protea)

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 10:50 AM PST

Suggestion to add a Gravitational Beam Emitter inspired weapon to Warframe. Small magazine but with a charge shot with infinite Punch Trough that obliterates everything in it's path.

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 08:05 AM PST

Semi-Auto rifles and pistols with no special abilities/alt-fires should have innate punch through as well as some other buffs.

    Posted: 22 Nov 2021 02:07 PM PST

Eg: Weapons like the the Veldt, Latron, Grinlok. Lex, Magnus, Marelok, Vasto.

These weapons have a multitude of disadvantages.

    1. a small mag size
    2. a slow fire rate
    3. long reloads for such a small mag size
    4. no aoe, so you have to rely on single shots one enemy at a time, no punch through is just insult to injury.
    5. No special ability

And in exchange they get a mediocre level of dps and their damage per shot isn't even relevant in a lot of cases (especially considering how statuses are king, so the high damage they get per shot is wasted)

Its frustrating to have your shots blocked by a dead body flailing in it's death animation and then having to go through a painfully long reload time for little to no firepower in return.

All of these rifles should be considered semi-auto snipers or battle rifles or magnums. They should get a bit of punch through per shot. 0.5m to a 1m would help greatly.

In addition, their reload speed should be increased greatly. I get that the general theme of battle rifles is small mag sizes and high damage per shot so those cannot change, but the speed at which they reload just 9 to 15 shots NEEDs to be faster. Or else why even bother using these weapons when other automatic or aoe weapons are just infinitely better?

Their crit OR status chances should be buffed as well. These weapons don't get as much shots off/multishots. Their mag size is small. Every shot needs to make a big impact to make them worth using over other weapons. So they need to either have high status OR high crit chances (definitely not both).

And finally, their firerate should be buffed just by a tiny bit. Not by a lot, just enough to bump their dps up by a tiny bit.

It's litteraly EVERY SINGLE prime item in the game you can get in a short period for free, compared to having to wait YEARS to otherwise get it all. Tldr this event is just insane and don't know why more ppl are not freaking out over it.

What should I know before making a solo clan?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 09:34 AM PST

My method of gaming is playing nothing but 1 game for a couple months then getting burnt out and playing another game. A few months alter I'll come back but in Warframe, I'll usually be kicked out of my clan during that period. So I'm thinking about making a solo clan. I realize it'll be expensive, especially in forma but I'm wondering if there's anything else I should be aware of. I heard that if I add someone else to my clan and go afk for too long, the game will make them the leader. Is that true?

Content islands, core gameplay loop stagnation and sustainable content

    Posted: 23 Nov 2021 07:10 AM PST

This post was inspired by u/jtpredator's post discussing single target weapons, which you can find here:https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/comments/qzx9yl/semiauto_rifles_and_pistols_with_no_special/

After lurking and participating in a number of communities tied to Warframe for a while, I hear a lot of issues tying back to one key tenant: new game content is being produced without looking back, or as I like to call it "All gas no brakes" development.

Warframe's core gameplay is solid and has kept me engaged for almost 9 years at this point. I wasn't there for the entire speel, taking breaks to do RL stuff, or due to reaching my goal for that patch, but I've come back again and again.

Why? I see a lot of value in the ideas DE has for the game in the future, whether it be the elaborate story arcs, or new gameplay features. In the meantime, the feel of the combat, the soundtrack, the set pieces are enough to entertain me.

But DE's strength as dreamers is also where their issues come from. With only several mission types taken out over the years and a few put in, for the most part I have been playing the same missions since the game's initial public beta. Meanwhile, several content islands have propped up, something that has become more egregious in recent years.

I like most of the content of these islands, don't get me wrong.

Fishing, conservation and mining are quick to learn, fun to master activities that allow you to do something other than killing (as long as you are left alone, that is). Bounties represent an alternative chain objective activity to Sorties that take you across these handcrafted open world maps. Railjack allows us to pull back the camera a bit to the greater operations around starchart missions. Liches are a way to get power upgrades for weapons that have become outdated. Void fissures allow you to revisit tiles you wouldn't otherwise. Sorties are a neat little challenge you can do each day. Arbitrations are a neat little permadeath mode. Lunaro gives players a nonviolent PvP mode with it's own set of controls.

These activities are great, but they also leave Warframe a very spread out game. With a growing pool of weapons and Warframes, balancing and avoiding bugs becomes a mounting concern. All throughout, due to it's nature as a grinding game, the encouraged playstyle through many of these activities compound what I said in my opening statement: "All gas no brakes" development. while no item is completely useless, many are left behind for something new and powerful that improves your ability to perform a mission as fast as possible. Many items are considered chores to master, or 'riven required' to stand a chance at being viable. Game content is left behind, with the offshoots kept in a state of stasis for years. To make matters worse, as we become more strong, the reliance of teammates grows smaller.

There is no explicit, 1 step strategy to fix the situation, nor should there be. It took years to create the current situation and it will likely take years to fix it. It is just as up to us as a community to be patient with DE to make these changes as it is for DE to put the brakes on and look in the mirror at what they have already made. The game is good, but if time is taken to really polish what is already there, make it nice and chrome, it will be even better.

To finalise, a list of common concerns that I have read. I understand that not everyone has these particular considerations for content islands, but I figure this as good a place as any for these to listed.

    • Content island integration is a particularly hairy issue. It will take many experiments to get the point of perfection right, but it should continue to be attempted.
    • Balancing content requires not only DE to provide a balance pass to all weapons, but a major balance overhaul of all content. This may or may not include changing how game modes work and also looking at what modifications, if any will encourage players to team up in missions, or communicate with players via surveys on what they think of parts of the game, or the game as a whole.
    • AI is a dirty word, but it should be considered in any content overhauls. If enemies die too fast to react, then considerations should be made as to why that is okay - are enemies obstacles or opponents?
    • Furiously grinding to the top of a Syndicate reputation is as much a problem as it is a symptom of open worlds. While these releases are massive, the fact that most of the core gameplay emphasizes upward mobility and doesn't provide much post climb support (as in reaching maximum rank) is one of the core reasons why, shortly after launch, people complain about lack of content after these updates. Integration of these hubs with the wider system could be a positive stopgap measure until additional maximum rank activities are added in future.
    • Providing AI opponents for Conclave and including it as challenges in the Nightwave might encourage more people to try out that part of the game. Additional gamemodes, as popular as this is as a suggestion in the community would firstly require knowledge that there is an interest and this would be a good first step towards knowing if the content has value within the community, even if it isn't fully PvP as originally intended.
    • Double down on what content Railjack can interact with. One of the reasons why people don't like Railjack is a lack of variance, or, with the Corpus areas, that it is a glorified taxi before the main mission. A hybridised approach might be better.
    • Necramechs suffer from an identity crisis. They do not do anything outside of the scope of a Warframe, and only have one mission type that was already completeable with Warframes. It might be best if they have their own specialised activity for the community to truly accept them.
    • Archmelee stances and attack patterns need to be reworked if the weapon class is to exist in Railjack. They, as a whole do not feel balanced for the enemies there.
    • New evergreen rewards should be a top priority, Forma should not stand alone. Reviewing old items, such as Navigation beacons or Orokin Ciphers should be considered here.
    • So many content pieces exist without loot to support them. Spread rewards around.

TL;DR: the core gameplay of Warframe is great. Please take time to nurture it and give us a reason to go back to it. Work on integrating content islands and make sure as little of the game is left behind as possible. Sustain the newer content with what exists so that as little of the game feels disconnected.
