If Forma in every single slot isn't enough, something is very wrong with pet mods

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 03:58 PM PDT

If Wisp needs more time to be developed, I for one am completely supportive of delaying her release - because it feels like she needs it.

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 11:03 AM PDT

I'm aware I'm not the only one who's gleamed this feeling from Wisp's show-case, but she seems like she's has a half realized identity that was quickly cobbled together at the last minute. Her entire visual design is wonderful. The floaty ghost like stature and animations are perfect, and I like how her unique supressed SMG fits with her kind of 'subtle' spooky spirit design. I'm a bit disappointed she's going to have the standard melee animations alongside these wonderful, unique primary/secondary animations, but that's an understandable limitation that I'm not overly concerned with.

What isn't so quite understandable is how some of her abilities seem to fit very well with her design, while others have incredibly linear synergy, no synergy at all, or directly conflict with her design:

    • Her passive is perfect, and I really like how it doesn't make Wisp invisible like other Warframes. Should serve her well as a way to stealth Spy vaults occasionally, but also acts as her way of avoiding damage - only time will tell how practical it is to rely on as a survivability mechanic, though.
    • Reservoir is an interesting take on frame resource management and supporting methods that I look forward to, but it also fits with her whole theme of summoning what are basically totems. Only complaint is it seems a bit slow.
    • Decoy is perhaps the most thematically appropriate ability she has - it matches her design and reiterates the ghostly/spirit theme. That aside, it's a part movement/part utility ability, and a lot of Warframes have these so it's par the course.
    • Pulse this is where I started having issues with Wisp. Pulse implies that Wisp is going to be leaving her Reservoir's around in strategic positions, which really doesn't sound useful in mobile gamemodes like Exterminate, where the front line of enemy units is constantly being obliterated room by room. Nothing else about Wisp's kit seems like it's relevant to static defense gamemodes, especially with how her Reservoirs can be picked up by teammates. My large concern with this ability is that it exists solely to serve her first ability - that sort of mechanic is not fun with Ember's Accelerant, and it's no more appealing here. This one should be reworked to the standard of Gara and Saryn's ability synergy, in that they have independent abilities that serve their own purpose, but have synergy in unique ways when used together.
    • Sol is the obvious contention of everyone (including myself) - it's at complete odds with her spirit/ghost theme no matter which way you look at it. Sure, Wisp is focused on portals and summoning - but giving a supernatural based Warframe the ability to summon a giant fucking fire laser beam is just so out of left field that it's bewildering. Wisp turns invisible when airborne, has a supressed SMG, has the ability to support her teammates with contextual power ups, and can warp around and distract/stun enemies with her other abilities. She seems like the first half of her design is more about subtly and really playing into the ghostly nature of her theme, but Sol is a complete departure from that. One would hope her ultimate ability would relate to portals and other ghostly figures, and not something as brash, simplistic and pragmatic as summoning a portal to the sun. This is a vague criticism, but I expected something a little more ghosty, more tricky than a giant laser beam.

Basically: Wisp feels like she's a bit underdeveloped, and that DE panicked and threw together a kit that doesn't make a huge amount of sense for either her design, theme, or gameplay role. In my opinion, if DE needs additional time in their schedule to piece together Wisp in a more coherent and complete state, I'm all for it. We've seen in the past that DE is incapable of (or disinterested in) touching up relatively recently released Warframes (cough Revenant cough), so I'd rather wait for Wisp longer, and get a better, more complete Warframe, than be stuck still waiting years later for her to be fixed to a playable standard (COUGH Titania COUGH).

That said, it is early days and we don't know exactly what her abilities entail. These are mostly superficial thematic complaints, so take their depth for what you will.

With Wisp being the 40th Warframe being released, I'd like to see a break from new Warframes (not primes) with a focus on buffing and reworking older frames

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 01:38 PM PDT

It's no secret that certain frames have low/no potential and that's partly because of how the game has grown and partly due to neglect. They addressed this with Vauban on the latest devstream, but a lot more frames than Vauban need this love. Off the top of my head, here are the frames I think need love to bring them up to par with today's Warframe meta:

-Ember -Nyx -Titania -Wukong -Atlas -Mag -Vauban -Valkyr -Zephyr

I want to note that not all of the frames I mentioned are in a bad place, but could use a little touch up on one or two abilities (Mag) while others need major work (Wukong). What do you guys think? I know.jew Warframes are cool, but I hate seeing old Warframes be left behind because every group is Syarn, Nova, Rhino and Loki.

    Edit: Don't nerf Itzal

Edit 2: My Warframe release schedule was a bit... Off. Point still stands though, let's get those old Warframes tuned up!

Khora is almost a year old and doesn't have cosmetics while Garuda is 5 months old and is getting a Deluxe skin... what?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 12:57 PM PDT

I got Khora today and have been really enjoying her so far! She's going to be a keeper for sure but upon looking at different cosmetics well... there are none. Aside from her 1 alt helm that all frames get that I don't really count for this argument... Khora will have her first birthday on the 20th.

Meanwhile we got a Deluxe skin coming out for a frame that came out almost exactly 5 months ago. Why?

Did DE forget about Khora or what? Give the cat lady some love too!

A decorative use for the new Venus trap decorations from Ticker

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 06:13 PM PDT

Yo DE - can we get the ability to see what mods we don’t have do in the codex. I don’t see the point in hiding the stats. It just makes us go to google and makes it harder to find what we want. Also could you make it so we could “hunt” selected mods.

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 03:28 AM PDT

    Title

Edit: if I've worded this badly I'm sorry.

    What I mean is.

In the codex tab you can view mods. What I want is to be able to see what all mods do and where/what they drop from.

Also id like to select a mod and have it as an objective to get it.

    Hope this clarifies things

Please revert the ground slam on Harrow's first ability

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 01:21 PM PDT

You used to be able to throw out condemns as you bullet jump merrily through the map, building up overshields as you go. Now, using the ability seriously hinders your movement. I hate it. Please fix it.

For everyone confused about Wisp's kit, the latin term for wisp is literally Ignis Fatuus

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 01:17 PM PDT

It means "Fool's Fire" because the swamp lights that formed the entire Will-o'-the-wisp mythology were often described as being like magical fire. They were "said to mislead travelers by resembling a flickering lamp or lantern."

Fire is absolutely thematically appropriate for Wisp's kit, as are the weird plant things (referencing the swamp origin) and the decoy.

Remove Blink from Itzal and make it the "bullet jump" move for all Archwings.

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 05:13 AM PDT

    Title.

That way, players won't pick Itzal only.

And for god sake, enable vacuum for Freeroam missions. What are you trying to achieve by disabling vacuum, DE? Did you guys learn anything from Razorwing?

edit: my vacuum suggestion is for all Archwings, not just Itzal.

[UNPOPULAR OPINION] Stop complaining about Wisp not being a spooky frame.

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 03:06 PM PDT

Wisp is based on the will o wisp, magical flames that appeared near marshy or swampy plants. The flames would lure travelers into the woods, yada yada, go read it or look up the rest. I know someone already made a post on this, and I know people are going to downvote me, but please stop complaining about this here, it isnt a problem.

Not to beat a dead horse, but ALL ephemeras should be "Achievement" based

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 03:41 PM PDT

In light of the recent Devstream, DE should consider revisiting the current ephemeras and pairing them to an achievement based system like they plan with the eidolon one.

Many suggestions have been posted before, like 25 waves in single ESO session, 10 rotations in single arbitration mission, honestly any number of things can be contributed.

Because 100+ runs of exploiter, 50+ stalker beacon share runs, the God awful 1-3% drop chances in ESO/arbitrations, does nothing to demonstrate anyones "mastery of the game". If anything, some people are like "welp, forget that".

The exploiter orb fight is fun imo and the resource drops are great from there. That's honestly the main incentive for me to run that boss; meaningful, useable resources. But when have enough resources and prints to make Hyldrin 4 times over and have had 0 luck in getting the shocking step ephemera to drop, I'm over it. No more incentive or desire to run it, another element of gameplay wasted.

At least ESO and arbitrations have focus and endo which are great by the way, but what happens when you have 150 virus essence and 750k endo. Again, no incentive or desire.

Stalker... is stalker lol. We all know he just gets trashed instantly but his spawn rate... outside of beacons, is blah. Sorry but after 10k worth of ducats in my experience at a 5% drop chance, yeah, no incentive or desire.

Just some feedback from a long time vet. Again, all these ephemeras could easily be tied to a challenge or even an achievement table covering various elements.

New "Venus Bounty Trap" available from Ticker today.

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 05:12 PM PDT

Can we get this as a "Shocking Body Ephemera" cosmetic for our frames?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 05:28 AM PDT

Punch trough should let you get headshots when you're aiming for the head while it is being blocked by another body part.

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 05:04 AM PDT

Title. It is impossible to get headshots on most grineer enemies alot of the time, because when they're not facing the player their back armor blocks their head.
